Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Uganda Wildlife Education centre

The birding experience starts in the morning and by the end of the day, you shall have met a big number of the 170 species of wild birds living in the Uganda Wildlife Education center. Here, expect to see the Giant Kingfisher, Swamp Flycatcher, Broad-billed Roller, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbill, Splendid Starling, Olive-bellied Sunbird, Orange Weaver, Vulturine and African Fish Eagle, Verreaux's Eagle-owl, Red-chested Sunbird, Ross's Turaco, Pied Hornbill, Crowned Hornbill, Open-billed Stork, Great Reed Warbler, Grey-caped Warbler, Sedge Warblers, the rare Northern Masked Weaver along with the Golden Backed, Black Necked, Northern Brown Throated, Grosbeak, different races of the Baglafecht Weavers, a number of flycatcher species such as the Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher, Lead colored, Pale Flycatcher, Red-bellied Paradise-flycatcher, African-paradise flycatcher, African Blue Flycatcher among others. Day 2: Mabamba Swamps

After breakfast, your birding experience to the Mabamba Swamps commences. Birding here is done canoeing on a big scale. A variety of species to be seen may include; The elusive Shoebill, White-faced Whistling-duck, Fulvours Whistling Duck, Goliath Heron, Purple Heron, Common Squacco Heron, long-toed Plover, African water Rail, Grey and Black Headed Herons, Striated Heron, Pygmy Goose, Yellow Billed Duck, Black Crake, Swamp Moorhen, Allen's Gallinule, African Jacana, Rufous-naped Lark, Flappet Lark, Mosque Swallow (monteiri race), Weyn's Weaver, White Shouldered Tit, Sand Martin, Brown Snake-Eagle, Eurasian Hobby, Troppical Boubou, Stripped Kingfisher, Common Stonechat, Little bee-eater, Red-chested Cuckoo, Klass’s Cuckoo, Diedrick Cuckoo, White-browed and the Senagal Coucals, Yello-rumped Tinkerbird, Yellow white-eye, common and black-capped Waxbills among others. You could also see the Sitatunga, a swamp antelope and much more of wildlife. Overnight at Rain Forest Lodge (Full Board).

Day 3: Mabira Forest Reserve

After breakfast, we lead out to Mabira Forest Reserve with packed lunch for the Nahan’s Francolin, African Dusky flycatcher, Buff-spotted Woodpecker, Yellow-crested Woodpecker, Black-shouldered Nightjar, Wood Warbler, Yellow-whiskered Greenbul, Red-tailled Bristlebil, White-spotted Fluftail, Red-headed Malimbe, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Grey-throated Barbet, Little Geenbul, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, African Pygmy Kingfisher, Shining-blue Kingfisher, Red-caped Robin-chat, Forest Robin, Fire-crested Alethe, Brown-chested Alethe, White-throated Greenbul name it. In the evening you will be returned to where you were picked and this will mark the end of the tour.
