Day 3: Dakar - Goree Island. After breakfast, go on a tour of Goree Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights will include a visit to the ethnographic museum, and a lecture by the curator on the history of the Island. In the afternoon return to Dakar and continue the city tour started yesterday. Day 4: Pink Lake and nearby Fulani Village. After breakfast we travel to Pink Lake, a rare natural phenomena caused by a unique combination of micro-organism and a high concentration of salt which gives the lake its pink color. Interact with the women harvesting salt then visit the nearby Fulani Village where you will be welcomed by the Chief and his wives. You may explore the dunes in 4x4 vehicles. Or, you may participate in optional activities including morning service at Zion Church. The church operates a Medical Centre and Orphanage. Day 5: Dakar - Capetown, South Africa. Transfer to the airport for flight to Cape Town. Meet assist and transfer to hotel. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner. Overnight at The PortsWood Hotel or similar.
Day 6: Table Mountain, Capetown, Robben Island. Today you will tour Cape Town and environs starting with a cable car ride to Table Mountain. The state-of-the-art cable car rotates 360 degrees on its way to the top, offering a panoramic view of the City. At the summit you will enjoy a magnificent view of Cape Town. After Table Mountain you will visit the City Centre, the Company Gardens, the Castle of Good Hope and the Milnerton Lighthouse from where there is a perfect photo opportunity of the magnificent Table Mountain. In the afternoon, you will take the ferry to Robben Island. This historic landmark is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Cape Town where this evening’s dinner will be at The Africa Café. Day 7: Capetown. Today we will visit the picturesque 'Malay Quarter', a living cultural museum and home to the oldest Mosque in the Southern Hemisphere. Discover the unique culture, lifestyle and personality of the Cape Muslim community and observe their contribution to South Africa's development. In the afternoon visit Nazareth House, where the Sisters of Nazareth care for the aged as well as, orphans. This evening dinner will be in a private home accompanied with music and poetry. Day 8: Capetown - Johannesburg. Transfer to airport for flight to Johannesburg meet assist and transfer to Hotel. This afternoon visit Lesedi Cultural Village; enjoy a unique experience, which begins with a warm traditional African welcome. Stroll through Ndebele village and African craft market where Ndebele murals decorate the walls and courtyard. Attend a presentation on the history and origin of the different ethnic groups and take a guided tour the four homesteads – Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho and Pedi. Later in the afternoon all the villages will perform their traditional songs and dances. Guests are invited to join in and display their artistic skills. Day 9: Johannesburg and Soweto. Full day tour to understand the old and new South Africa. Day 10: Johannesburg - Pilanesburg. Today you will travel to Pilanesberg game Reserve. You will stop at Sun City, Africa’s Las Vegas and an award winning casino and fantasy resort. In the evening continue to Pilanesburg National Park for an evening game drive in search of lions, elephants, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, hyenas, giraffes, hippos and other species in their natural habitat. Day 11: Pilanesburg - Johannesburg. Before breakfast enjoy an early morning game drive to have another look at the “big five” and other animals.
