MONTSERRAT - A peculiar jagged-shape mountain with a Benedictian monastery, founded in1025, and a basilica where the image of the black madonna is venerated.
CAVAS - The Spanish name for wine cellars and also the name given to the sparkling wine produced in them. We will visit one of these cellars with full explanations of the wine-making process and, of course, plenty of tasting of the final product. Later we will go for a typical meal in a restaurant near the cavas. COSTA BRAVA - Home to the nicest beaches in Spain and a pioneering region for promoting tourism. We can take a walk along one of the calas (small beaches) and an excursion in a glass bottom boat. SITGES - A charming coastal village 30 kms. away from the city. It is home to one of the most popular modernist painters, S. Rusinyol and his “Cau Ferrat” museum. CASTLES ROUTE - 100 kms. from Barcelona, in a frontier land disputed for centuries between the Arab empire (Al-andalus) and the Christians in X , XI and XII centuries. The medieval castles are well preserved and can be visited. This is a precious way to understand the way of living on those times. More info ROUTES ON FOOT OR BY BIKE - Routes along the coast, a river or around lakes, in the mountain or in the countryside, bird-watching or natural parks. All these proposals are just for reference and can be modified, added to or removed according to your interests. And remember, if you go with a licensed guide you do not need to stand in queues to visit any of the tourist resources. - Tours outside the city last about 5 hours and some include eating out, but everything can be arranged to the likes of the client.
