Want to know what life was like in the Communist era? Visit Nowa Huta - a living image of the past times - a place where the vision of the then authorities to create a perfect city overlaps with the Orwell's vision of a metropolis and the absurdities of the daily routine, which would easily become the basis for a movie. You'll be touring the streets of Nowa Huta in an authentic communist-era car accompanied by the city's trueborn citizen. The program includes the longest available tourist track with over 20 interesting places to visit around the district (each of them fully detailed and provided through the audio tour guide.) Having been enriched with numerous anecdotes, the spoken commentary gives an overview of the historical and architectural background of the area. Later, you will get to see the Communist-era-style Nowa Huta club where you'll taste the well-known communist-era drink, pink lemonade - looking at the artifacts and pictures from the past epoch. Also, you will visit the Museum of Communism and see its thematic exhibitions on the socialistic history of Poland and Nowa Huta, also you will watch the propaganda film produced during the construction of Nowa Huta At the end of the tour you'll visit the cafeteria (bar mleczny/ milk bar) where you will have the traditional Polish spécialité - ruthenian dumlpings.
