Day 1: Alexandria Port – Alexandria Tour – Drive to Cairo. We will pick you up from your ship after docking at Alexandria port by modern air-conditioned vehicle to start your full day tour to the attractions of Alexandria with your private Egyptology expert tour guide to visit:
- Catacombs Tour:
Catacombs (Kom El shoqafa) is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the middle Ages. The necropolis consists of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and archaeological objects of the Pharaohnic funeral cult with Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences, A circular staircase, which was often used to transport deceased bodies down the middle of it, leads down into the tombs that were tunneled into the bedrock during the age of the Antonine emperors (2nd century AD).
- Pompey’s Pillar Tour:
Pompey’s Pillar”, a Roman triumphal column, is one of the best-known ancient monuments still standing in Alexandria today. It is located on Alexandria’s ancient acropolis—a modest hill located adjacent to the city’s Arab cemetery—and was originally part of a temple colonnade. Lunch meal will be served at a local restaurant in Alexandria.
- Qaitbay Fortress Tour:
The most important defensive strongholds in Alexandria is Qaitbay Citadel, established in 1477 AD by Sultan Sayf ad-Din Qa’it Bay. The Citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern harbor. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria.
- The Roman Amphitheatre:
The Theatre consists of an auditorium and Skena, between them there was the place of the Orchestra. It has Inscriptions suggest that it was sometimes also used for wrestling contests. The theatre stood with thirteen semi-circular tiers of white marble that was imported from Europe. Its columns are of green marble imported from Asia Minor, and red granite imported from Aswan.
- Alexandria Library Tour:

It flourished under the patronage of the Ptolemaic dynasty and functioned as a major center of scholarship from its construction in the 3rd century BC until the Roman conquest of Egypt in 30 BC, The first known library of its kind to gather a serious collection of books from beyond its country’s borders, the Library at Alexandria was charged with collecting all the world’s knowledge. Then you will be taken to Cairo for overnight stay at the Pyramids Area.
Day 2: Old Cairo Tour to Port Said. After breakfast at the hotel in Cairo your private English speaking Egyptologist guide will take you in a guided tour to visit:
- Giza Pyramids Tour:
Of course the most well preserved and famous those pyramids of Giza plateau which dated back to the fourth dynasty. The pyramid of king Cheops is the biggest of the Egyptian pyramids. Its real height is 147 m but after lose 11 m from its height it became 136m now. The middle pyramids of Khefren is smaller than the pyramid of Cheops with its height 143.5 m and the only one than still having the remaining of the outer casing of the fine limestone .The smallest pyramid of king Mykerinus with height of 66 m, but must have been extremely beautiful as it was once coated with pink granite.
- Sphinx & Valley Temple Tour:
mysterious Sphinx, the Father of Terror for the ancient pharaohs, the tour includes visit to the valley temple facing the great sphinx with shopping tour at the Famous bazaars and papyrus institutes in Giza area and then tour The Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It is now more than 160 years since the ancient Egyptian artifacts were first exhibited in Cairo, and almost 100 years since the opening to the public of the present Egyptian Museum on Tahrir square in the heart of Cairo, where the Egyptian revolution took place in Jan 25 against Mubarak and his regime. The Egyptian Museum contains some 150.000 artifacts created over a period of more than 5,000 years. It is consists of two floors, the ground floor is devoted to the great sculptural works, arranged chronologically, covering the history of Egypt from the Archaic and proto dynastic periods through to the late Saite period, Persian and Greco-Roman periods. The second floor displayed in collection and the most important is that of king Tutankhamun. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Cairo. Finally you will be escorted by your guide back to the cruise ship in Port Said : departure time from Cairo depends on the departure time of your ship in Port Said.
