Day 1: Welcome to Colombia! Bogota sits over 8,000 ft above sea level and enjoys fresh cool weather year round. We meet you at the airport and travel together to La Candelaria, the historical center of town, where your hotel is conveniently located.

Day 2: Our first day will be spent in the Colombian capital, we’ll wake up early to begin our city tour to Monserrate, the historic district of La Candelaria, Plaza Bolivar and the world famous gold museum.

Day 3: Villa de Leyva is considered one of the most beautiful colonial villages in Colombia, famous for its cobblestone streets and grand colonial houses. After we’ve checked into our hotel, it's time to giddy-up as we explore the surrounding area on horseback. We'll see everything from blue lagoons and desert ruins to ancient fossils.

Day 4: Arriving to Zipaquirá, we visit the largest underground cathedral in the world located 200 meters below the Earth's surface in an abandoned salt mine. Built in 1954, Zipaquirá was constructed completely out of salt and is considered one of the greatest religious monuments in the world.

Day 5: In the morning we catch a flight to Ciudad Milagro (Miracle City), located in the heart of Colombia’s coffee-growing region, it is also often referred to as Armenia. Then we head south to the Valle de Cocora, an area famous for its towering wax palm trees, which can reach heights of over 150 feet. We’ll spend three hours or so hiking through the enormous cloud forest before heading to the small town of Salento in the afternoon.

Day 6: Today we visit a coffee plantation where they cultivate, grow and provide samples of the delicious local blends. After learning what it takes to produce world class coffee, you'll certainly appreciate your next cup of joe. This afternoon we make the journey to the "City of Eternal Spring", Medellin.

Day 7: Today we tour this beautiful city of Medellin and find out why the "paisas" are considered open, friendly and powerful people. For lunch we'll be enjoying a signature Colombian dish: Bandeja Paisa, a large meal with 3 meats, beans, rice and more. The city tour shows you all the sites of interest and has you back to your hotel in time to rest before tonights Salsa class!

Day 8: We land in the coastal heat of Cartagena after a short flight. Our hotel is conveniently located in the beautiful Walled City, where you can safely walk the narrow cobblestone streets. Close by are many points of interest such as the Church of Santo Domingo, the Cathedral, and of course, the Castle of San Felipe.

Day 9: We have a relaxing day planned on the Carribean beach shore. In the morning, we travel one hour by boat to the Caribbean beaches of Baru in the Rosario Islands. Here you have various options including snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing.
