Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Today you arrive to Quito, Ecuador, one of the world's highest capital cities. Your private driver will meet you at the airport and assist you with checking in to the hotel. Day 2: We take an early flight landing in the morning to the island of San Cristobal the easternmost island of the Galapagos. We will be swimming with the 2,900 different marine species that exist underwater near Isla Lobos. Here we will have the chance of meeting playful sea lions, sea turtles, water iguanas, stingrays, and possibly even sharks. We return to San Cristobal and have time to freshen up before dinner on the island. Day 3: Wake up to crisp ocean air as we take a 2.5 hour boat ride to the small island of Floreana, on the way we'll have a look at the islands of Champions and Enderby as well. Plunge into the waters to explore the island's black coral bushes, Pacific Seahorse and green turtles lurking amongst the reef. Various breeds of iguanas in the area ranging in color from charcoal black to highlighter yellow. Our day of nature and adventure ends with dinner on Isabela Island, our home for the next 2 nights, and a stroll to the Flamingo Lagoon. Day 4: We traverse gravel roads on a short 40 min bus ride to the Sierra Negra volcano. Following the lava fields, we take a leisurely hike on the volcano's edge, at 4 miles in diameter, it is the second largest crater in the world. We return to the town port around 3 pm and set sail towards Concha Pearl. Day 5: We head out early to visit Tintorerias a favorite resting spot for the friendly reef sharks, home to the Galapagos penguins, the famous Blue Footed Boobies and baby Sea Lions. Following our visit we head to the island of Santa Cruz one of the largest of the islands inhabited by over 8,000 individuals. Day 6: Today we are headed to one of the rarer islands of the Galapagos. North Seymour island is an uplifted lava plateau which creates it's almost entirely flat topography. Upon arrival we receive a warm welcome from the local Sea Lions. This island is known for the wide variety of birds that call it home. Day 7: By boat we head to the coast of Bartolome island to observe the Galapagos penguins. Following the trek we can go snorkeling with the Sea Lions, parrot fish, hog streamers, wrasse, blue-eyed damsels, and green sea urchin. After a long day in the sun we board the boat and head back to our hotel for the evening. Day 8: Pack your bags, as today we leave the Galapagos and head back to Quito. Prior to our transfer out of Baltra airport, we have one final stop at the Charles Darwin Research Station. We arrive to the airport and check in for the short flight back to Quito.
