Day 1: Our drive from Quito takes us by the Antisana volcano and the surrounding paramo wetlands. Our two hour drive brings us to Termas de Papallacta Resort and Spa. Here we visit Ecuador's most beautiful thermal hot springs, surrounded on both sides by mountain forests of the Eastern Andes slopes. Day 2: Our journey continues through the mystical cloud forests of the Eastern Andes towards the great Amazon basin. At midday we will arrive at Cotococha Amazon Lodge, a lovely retreat located on the shores of the Napo River. Day 3: Following breakfast we head down to the riverbank to begin our canoe ride down the imposing Napo River. Arriving to the village of Misahualli to visit a local group of monkeys and a stop at one of the local indigenous communities found on the shores of the Napo River. Here we'll be invited into the home of a native Quichua family who will show us real life in the Amazon. Day 4: We depart by canoe upstream and continue by foot in search of the hidden jungle waterfall "La Cascada de Latas" where we will take a refreshing bath in its crystal clear waters and enjoy the jungle surroundings. After Puyo we continue our drive enjoying the spectacular views of the Pastaza gorge, the surrounding cloud forests with thousands of orchids, dramatic waterfalls, cliff side farms and views of the Sangay and Llanganates National Parks. Day 5: Today we will have a free day to spend in Baños. This friendly town is also known for its thermal hot springs with healing powers, but has much more to offer. Day 6: We leave Baños for another day full of diversity driving along the 'Avenue of the Volcanoes', through the central Andean valley. On our way we will visit the Salasaca community, known for their woven products. Afterwards we continue towards the central valley where with clear weather we will be able to see at least 11 of Ecuador's 55 volcanoes and continuing to the Cotopaxi National Park. After a visit to the park we head back to Quito where you will be dropped off for your international flight or at you hotel of choice. Notes: All domestic flights are included.
