From ancient temples and culture at Jogjakarta and Prambanan, to traditional dance and Javanese art in Ubud. See Bali’s most active volcano, go on a coffee tour and design your own batik piece. End with the sea as you discover the wealth of marine life in the Gili Islands.

Tour Jogjakarta, the centre of old Javanese culture with your expert guide. See the process of batik at a batik workshop and make your own piece. Experience village life as you ride in a local horse cart or ‘dokar’, down the lanes of a quiet village. Stop to see everyday activities, including vanilla and chilli harvesting and playing local instruments. Dine at a local restaurant and see traditional Ramayana Dance.

Head out to the 9th century Hindu Temples at Prambanan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the charming city of Solo; Jogjakarta’s ‘twin sister’. Take a stunning, scenic train ride to East Java. Board a 4 wheel-drive jeep and drive up to witness the sun slowly rising from behind Mt.Bromo. Drive on to the lunar-like landscape of the volcano’s caldera, then ride on horseback to the crater rim. Tour Kalibaru, visiting plantations growing cocoa, coffee, rubber and pepper. Have a coffee tasting session here.

Do a 4X4 jeep journey and make the 3km ascent to the top of a mountain. Take the ferry to Bali; continuing to Lovina Beach. Drive on to Bali’s most famous temple, the sea-bound, iconic Tanah Lot. Take an early morning stroll through the beautiful, tranquil, terraced rice fields of Ubud and explore its museums and markets. See one of the finest collections of Balinese and Indonesian painting at the Agung Rai Museum of Art.

Next, visit the 16th century Royal Palace, still home to Ubud’s Royal Family. Indulge in a Balinese massage at a local spa. Drive past lush rice paddies to the most active volcano in Bali. Board the Gili Cat speedboat as you head for the Gili Islands. No cars or motorbikes are allowed here, giving them a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. Relax on the beach or snorkel, scuba dive; or sail in a glass-bottomed boat and discover the multitude of marine life in the island’s waters.

Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.
