See pre-historic paintings at Pha Taem Historical Park and let the staff explain their origins. Try your hand at cotton weaving at an old Laos-Isaan village and take lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge. Visit the house where Ho Chi Minh lived when he was leader of the resistance against French occupation, before going to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ban Chiang. Home stay at a friendly country village where locals will welcome you with a traditional ‘Baci’ ceremony. Rise early and give morning alms to monks in a traditional Buddhist ritual.
