Begin your trip exploring the beautiful cities of Reykjavik and Egilsstaðir. Then receive your own private car and travel along the scenic coastline of the Eastern fjords to Höfn. Visit a glacial lagoon, hike to waterfalls in Skaftafell National Park, and see rare geysers.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Transfer by Fly bus (Airport Bus) from Keflavík Airport to accommodation in Reykjavik. Overnight at Hotel Loftleidir or similar. Day 2: Morning flight to Egilsstaðir. Spend the day in Egilsstaðir area. Overnight at Icelandair Hotel Herad or similar in Egisstadir. Day 3: Travel along the scenic coastline of the Eastern fjords to Höfn. Overnight at Foss Hotel Vatnajokull or similar in Hofn. Optional: Jeep tour to Vatnajökull Glacier. Day 4: Drive from Höfn to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and on to Skaftafell National Park. We recommend a hike in the park, at least to Svartifoss waterfall. Then across Skeiðarársandur to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Overnight at Icelandair Hotel Kirkjubaejarklaustur or similar. Optional: Boat tour on Jökulsárlón/ Ice climbing in Skaftafell area. Day 5: From Kirkjubæjarklaustur passing Vík, Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the beautiful waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Another option is to drive the mountain track Fjallabaksleið nyrðri, through Landmannalaugar (4WD needed). Overnight at Hotel Hofdabrekka or similar in Vik. Day 6: Visit Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park, before returning to Reykjavík and overnight at Hotel Loftleidir or similar. Optional: River Rafting in Hvítá.
