Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Tana Arriving at Ivato international airport, clear customs and meet Ortour representative for transfer to the Hotel Chalet des Roses (midrange) or Tana Hotel (top) for overnight. Days 2-3: Tana - Ankarafantsika Early departure for the National Park Ankarafantsika. (Around 8 hours drive). Ankarafantsika is a haunt of birds and lemurs. A feature that makes conservation a real leitmotiv for this national park. 8 species of lemurs have been observed in Ankarafantsika: a diurnal species, 2 mixed species, 5 species typically nocturnal, including the famous Microcebus, the smallest primate in the world. 129 species of birds nest in the forest Ankarafantsika. 75 of them are endemic. Finally, Ankarafansika also houses local endemic reptiles: chameleons, iguanas, snakes and freshwater turtles. On the third day, full day visit in the park. Overnight in bungalow. Day 4: Ankarafantsika - Ambanja Early morning drive to Ambanja(9 hours drive). Overnight at the Hotel Palma Nova (midrange) or Baobab Hotel (top). Day 5: Ambanja - Ankarana Just after breakfast leave Ambanja to Ankarana Reserve, and is famous for its wonderful view of Tsingy. The park of Ankarana spreads over 18,225 ha. Ankarana is the western extension of a chalky massif of the medium Jurassic that emerges from a basaltic plain located above 50m over the sea level. The plateau, that is a greatly eroded karst formation in surface, is constituted by a lapiaz of Tsingy. Overnight at the hotel Relais d’Ankarana (high-midrange) or at National hotel (mid range). Day 6: Ankarana - Diego Morning visit in the park till noon, Ankarana is home to many species of lemurs such as the crowned lemurs, Sanford’s brown lemurs and different species of birds. Also, it is mostly known for its limestone pinnacles or the Tsingy. The biological inventories of Ankarana reported 50 herpetofauna species with 40 reptiles and 10 amphibians, also reported 96 species of birds, 50 species of mollusks and a huge number of snails of the tsingy. 14 species of bats, either the half of the bats of Madagascar lives in the underground cave of Ankarana. After the visit, drive to Diego. Overnight at the Hotel Jardin Exotique (midrange) and Grand Hotel (top). Day 7: Diego - Amber Mountain - Diego Departure in 4x4 vehicles to the Reserve Amber Mountain located 45 miles from Diego Suarez. Mountain and Forest of Amber is a complex of protected areas that covers 23 010 ha, of which 18 200 ha for the National Park and 4,810 ha for the Special Reserve Forest of Amber. It is a volcanic massif covered with forest spread over 850 to 1 475 m altitude. Six lakes and several rivers crisscross the park. Mountain and Forest of Amber is a high place with 77 endemic species of birds, 7 species of lemurs and 24 species of amphibians. After the visit return to Diégo. Overnight at the Hotel Jardin Exotique (mid range) and Grand Hotel (top). Day 8: Diego - Ankify - Nosy Be Drive from Diégo to Ankify and take the speed boat to Nosy Be, then transfer to your beach hotel. Relax on the beach; Nosy Be is the apotheosis of tourism in Madagascar. The charm offered its beaches, vegetation, population and its sun, sea-bottom came together to found his fame. It is found that the term "Earthly Paradise" is best suited to describe this island of rare beauty. The temperature of this island is very pleasant and the sky is always bright to allow the full benefit of the sea Enjoy the fascinating spectacle offered by a sunset and melodious rustle of the ocean. Day 9: Nosy Be - Nosy Tanikely Take a boat and depart to Nosy Komba which is only a dozen kilometres from Nosy Be which is accessible by boat. In Nosy Komba, tourists are likely to enjoy close contact with the domesticated black and brown lemurs that gently jump onto your shoulders expecting to eat bananas. Continue by boat to Nosy Tanikely constitutes an underwater reserve which offers a very suitable diving site. With just a mask and a tuba, one can start appreciating the parade of the thousands of species of fish starting from only some meter from the beach and see grouper, moonfish, swordfish, barracuda, parrots, lines, clown fishes, moray, turtles…These species grind around splendid corals, like a patrol. The marine reserve of Nosy Tanikely presents a broad sandy beach for snorkelling activities that most people love the clear water you can see an amazing variety of marine life, starfish, anemones, very coloured shape of fish, and lobsters. Have a lunch under the green shade of the trees in front the clear water and white sand, after lunch swim and relax ,then return to Nosybe at around 3:30 pm return. Overnight at the hotel Sarimanok (midrange,top) or Nosybe hotel (top) or Andilana Beach (top). Day 10: Nosy Be Free day. Overnight at the hotel Sarimanok (midrange, top) or Nosy be hotel (top) or Andilana Beach (top). Day 11: Nosy Be - Tana After lunch, take flight in the afternoon to Tana.
