From Aberdeen we head north to the remote crofting villages and thriving seabird rookeries on the Orkney Islands and Fair Isle. Heading further north, we explore the Shetland Islands with its spectacular sea cliffs, bird life and wildflowers. We sail across the North Sea to the coastline of Norway, to explore the intricate maze of seldom visited inlets and outer islands. Sailing along Norway’s mountainous coastline, we cross the Arctic Circle, keeping watch for pods of whales. We approach Spitsbergen, keeping a watch out for polar bears and arctic fox in the polar desert landscape.
