Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Meeting at the International airport “Zvartnots”, transfer to a centrally located hotel. City Tour. Visit to Matenadaran, which is one of the richest and fascinating depositories of manuscripts and books in the world. The collection now numbers over 100,000 manuscripts, documents, and fragments and dates back to 405, when Saint Mesrop Mashtots created the Armenian alphabet. Afterwards you will go to Cascade, a marvelous place for walking. Here you will visit Cafesjian center for Arts. The guide will show you the main streets, Opera House, Republic Square, “Ararat” Brandy Company. Return to the hotel. Overnight. Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to St. Echmiadzin - the administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Zvartnots temple, a ruined seventh century circular Armenian cathedral (641-653) - UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Echmiadzin you will also see 3 other churches: ST. Hripsime, ST. Gayane and ST. Shoghakat. Ride back to Yerevan, overnight at the hotel. Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Garni and Geghard. Geghard Monastery, a unique architectural monument, founded in the fourth century, partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will continue our way to Garni, the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the royal palace. Return to the hotel and overnight. Day 4: It is impossible to have winter holidays in Armenia without visiting Tsaghkadzor – our marvelous and beautiful winter resort. Here you can fully enjoy the richness of nature as in winter Tsaghkadzor turns into a fairy tale. After short city tour and enjoying the nature from the rope-way you will be accompanied to Kecharis Monastery-an ancient and rather large assembly. It is also an excellent place for skate and ski lovers. Then, you will return to the hotel, have a rest. Overnight. Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Vernissage, an open-air market where you can get acquainted with the Armenian Art particularly, buy carpets, old collections of coins and medallions, jewelry, carved wood, lace, embroidery, etc. Also, the Vernissage is the perfect place to get a little taste of Armenia and a unique scenario to witness the fusion between national traditions with contemporary taste.
