Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival for Uganda and Rwanda Wildlife Tour.
On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, our driver guide will transfer you to the Hotel.
Depending on the time of arrival, you will be guided on a leisurely walk to the Entebbe botanical gardens. These are the only Botanical gardens in the country and boost a prolific birdlife, three primate species and other smaller mammals. The gardens are a heaven for botany enthusiasts.

Day 2: Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) Visit.
UWEC used to be known as Uganda Zoo but today it is a wildlife education centre, therefore you will have a brief introduction to game before meeting them in the wild.
Good birdwatching can be experienced here; usually at the end of the day over 100 bird species are ticked-off. Species include; Common Ostrich, Peacock, Olive-bellied Sunbird, White-chinned Prinia, Grey-capped Warbler, Grey Parrot, Palm-nut Vulture (Vulturine Fish Eagle), Common-ringed Plover, Great Reed Warbler, Klaas's Cuckoo, Northern Crombec, Tambourine Dove, Cameroon Sombre Greenbul, Little Grey Greenbul, Grey Woodpecker, Northern Puffback, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Common Bulbul, Double-toothed Barbet, The Speckled, Yellow-fronted and Yellow-rumped Tinkerbirds, Eastern Grey Plantain-Eater, Orange Weaver, Long-tailed Cormorant, Black-headed Weaver, and many more.

Day 3: Mabamba Wetlands Uganda Birding Tour.
After breakfast, your birding experience to the Mabamba Swamps will start. Birding here is done canoeing on a big scale. A variety of species to be seen may include; The elusive Shoebill (probably Africa’s most sought after bird for birdwatchers), White-faced Whistling-duck, Fulvous Whistling-Duck, Goliath Heron, Purple Heron, Common Squacco Heron, long-toed Plover, African water Rail, Grey and Black Headed Herons, Striated Heron, Pygmy Goose, Yellow Billed Duck, Black Crake, Swamp Moorhen, Allen's Gallinule, African Jacana, and many more. You could also see the Sitatunga, a swamp antelope and much more of wildlife.

Day 4: Tour to Murchison Falls National Park.
After an early breakfast, and with packed lunch, we get on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park- the most beautiful protected area in Uganda. We pass by the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a moment with these re-introduced magnificent White Rhinos. The Rhinos were poached to extinction in the country in the 1970’s, thanks to the government and nature enthusiasts for the re-introduction. We proceed to the top of the iconic Murchison falls from which the park gets her name; this is where the world's longest river (River Nile) explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Great rift escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below.

Day 5: Game Viewing in Murchison Falls National Park.
Start the day with an early morning Game Drive on the Buligi, Albert or Queens tracks north of river Nile, View a variety of wild game like Rothschild’s Giraffe, a number of Antelope species, African Lion, African Elephant, a variety of savannah grassland birds, just to mention but a few. At 14:00hrs after lunch, it is time for a launch cruise for game viewing at close quarters; this is a paradise for hippos and crocodiles and, a fascinating birdlife among which might include the Shoebill- Africa’s most sought-after-bird.

Day 6: Tour to Kibale National Park - The home of primates.
Have breakfast and with packed lunch be driven through verdant countryside, past traditional homesteads and farms to Kibale National Park. This will take you through the homes of the people in the typical Uganda villages.

Day 7: Kibale National Park- Chimpanzee tracking.
After breakfast, report to Kanyanchu Tourist centre where tourist activities begin. You will be briefed by a ranger guide then set out to track man’s closest relatives, the Chimpanzee in the forest. The Kibale Forest National Park is a home of the endangered Chimpanzee and boosts of having the highest concentrations of primates in East Africa and probably Africa since the potential competitor- the Congo forest has been poorly researched. Other primate Species include the globally threatened Red Colobus Monkey, Black and White Colobus, Blue monkey Bush Babies, the Nocturnal Potto and Galagos name it. From the tracking experience, you will have then nature walk to the Bigodi Wetland. Here is a community based activity that was set up to enable tourists give back to the community and yet enjoy the nature offered by the swamp like many colorful butterflies, birds and other plant species. This is another moment with the natives of the area hence take a look at their way of life.

Day 8: Crater Lakes Tour.
You will have breakfast before proceeding for an exploration of the crater lakes. Enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages.

Day 9: Kibale Forest National Park- Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, you will chill around the camp and in the afternoon you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On entering Queen Elizabeth, expect seeing Waterbucks, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species. This Park has the highest record of mammals in the country and is the second in size after Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Game Viewing.
The day begins early as we head for the mating ground (lek) of the Uganda kobs, search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other big and small game in their natural habitats. We return for lunch and in the afternoon get on the unique launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This lingeringly cruise takes you through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals are often seen drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and birdwatching too.

Day 11: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi Forest National Park.
We have breakfast and with packed lunch, we go for another game drive for more game, possibly missed on the previous game drives. From the game drive, we transfer to the prime home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 12: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
At 08:00hours, you will be guided to the ranger station for registration and a briefing by the ranger guide. Then you will be taken into the impenetrable forest to enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest yet the home to over a half of the world’ mountain gorillas for your tracking experience.
The tracking activity takes 20 minutes – 8 hours and on meeting the Gorillas, at most one hour is allowed with them, some fitness is required. Please read about the Mountain Gorillas and Gorilla tracking here.
A guided village walk through the Local Batwa Community in the evening, will be available should you be left with energy.

Day 13: Transfer to Akagera National Park in Your Rwanda.
After breakfast, we transfer to Akagera National Park. The park lies largely in the Mubari–Migongo subregion which is located in the north-east of Rwanda, on the Tanzanian and Ugandan borders. The topography of the park is characterized by rolling sandstone hills in the west, cut in places by deep, narrow valleys. In the east, flood-plains and swamps are predominant. To the south of the Buganza, the Gisaka subregion is wetter. And to the north of Akagera is the Mutara subregion where the vegetation is dominated by open grasslands in which Themeda, Hyparrhenia and Cymbopogon predominate, grasses characteristic of traditional pastoralism and repeated bush fires.
Over 50 species of mammals are known to occur at the site among which include the African Elephant which was introduced to the in 1975.

Day 14: Game Viewing and Launch Cruise on Your Rwanda Tour.
Early in the morning, we set out for the early raisers. We look out for the African Lions, a number of antelope species, African Elephant, Giraffe, Birds and much more.
We return to the Lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, we go for a Launch Cruise on Lake Ihema for game viewing at close quarters. The cruise usually breeds numbers of the Nile crocodile, Hippopotamus, grassland game as they come to drink by the shores, Waterfowl and much more.

Day 15: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 16: Dian Fossey Hike at Karisoke Research Centre in Rwanda.
Dian Fosssey was an American naturalist who researched about and conserved Mountain Gorillas. She arrived in 1967 and set up the Karisoke Research Centre between Karisimbi and Visoke. From then on she spent most of her time in the park, and is widely credited with saving the Mountain Gorillas from extinction by bringing their plight to the attention of the international community. She was murdered by unknown assailants at her home in 1985, a crime often attributed to the poachers she had spent her life fighting against. Fossey's life later was portrayed on the big screen in the famous film “Gorillas in the Mist”, named after her autobiography. She is buried in the park in a grave close to the research center, and amongst the gorillas which became her life.

Day 17: Transfer to Kigali on a Rwanda Tour.
Have breakfast then jump on the boat, we visit the coffee island, and also explore the wildlife on the waters as well as the island. In the afternoon, we transfer to Kigali for the last night.

Day 18: Transfer to Entebbe.
Have breakfast quite early then embark on the journey to Entebbe. We have lunch enroute and later have a brief stop at the Equator for an informative talk as well as a photographic opportunity and the experience in both hemispheres. This drive takes you through beautiful scenery especially at the sighting of the Kigezi highlands which are sometimes referred to as the “Switzerland of Uganda” and also herds of the Ankole Long-horned Cattle.
