After three nights in the jungle, you will travel van to picture perfect coast of Placencia. Along the way its your choice of 150ft or take the full challenge of the 300ft waterfall rappel followed by a zip along the tree canopy. In Placencia we awake to enjoy a unique combination tour of reef fishing and snorkeling. Your last day is leisurely to enjoy however you like. TYPICAL DAILY ITINERARY Day 1 – Arrival & Transfer to inland Lodge, Hummingbird Highway Your van and driver are waiting to meet you when you arrive in Belize at the International Airport. Transfer by comfortable air-conditioned van to your inland Lodge where you will enjoy a local dinner and settle in for the next three nights. The hummingbird highway offers one of the most scenic jungle areas in Belize ideally situated for your upcoming adventures and a haven for birds. Transfer: Meet & Greet at the international airport, transfer to Lodge / Meals: Dinner / Accommodation: Inland jungle lodge Day 2 – Xunantunich Maya Temple & River Kayak Depart after breakfast at 8am to the Village of San Jose Succotz where Xunantunich sits just across the river, and is accessed by a hand-cranked ferry. This Classic period (300-900 AD) ceremonial center offers large plazas ringed with pyramids. The center is composed of six major plazas surrounded by more than 25 temples and palaces. After lunch meet your kayak guide and kayaks on the riverbank for the paddle downstream. Tour: tour transfer, entrance fee to site, guided tours, tour gear / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch on tour, Dinner / Accommodation: Inland jungle lodge Day 3 – Cave Kayak Gear up and get comfortable in your kayak in a quiet jungle lined pool. Follow the gentle currents 7 miles downstream through a series of caves and as well as along the jungle lined open river. At the midway point, you will break for a picnic lunch enjoying the view of the jungle all around and the crystal clear river as it flows by. After a refreshing swim, grab your kayak for a 10minute jungle portage to the mouth of another cave where you will set your kayaks for the home stretch. Alternate tour choices for today are: St. Herman Cave, Crystal Cave, ATM Cave, Black Hole Drop, or River Cave Expedition. Tour: tour transfer, entrance fee to site, guided tours, tour gear / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch on tour, Dinner / Accommodation: Inland jungle lodge Day 4 – Transfer to Placencia (3 nights) / Jungle Waterfall Rappel & Zip Line Sixteen miles of natural sandy beach, a virgin mangrove-fringed lagoon, a wonderland of coral-studded cayes and nearby jungles make Placencia the ideal location for the adventure traveler! En route to Placencia, we will stop in at Bocawina National Park for a 150ft or 300ft waterfall rappel and zip line along Belize’s longest cable system. Upon arrival in Placencia we’ll settle in for the next three nights. Or choose the Alternate tour for today: Cockscomb Nature Hike & Waterfall Swim Tour: tour transfer, entrance fee to site, guided tours, tour gear Transfer: Van transfer from your inland lodge to your Placencia beachfront hotel / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch on tour, Dinner in Placencia / Accommodation: Beachfront Hotel Day 5 – Reef Fishing & Snorkel Combo Ideal for the seasoned or novice fisherman and woman. A great introduction to fishing in Belize with your highly skilled guide - he brings in a catch 99% of the time and a smile 100% of the time! Start with a bit of trolling as well as bottom fishing for snappers on the calm waters of the inner reef. Then head over to a nearby beach for an island cookout and a guided snorkel experience on Belize's beautiful reef.
