Day 1: Arrive Nairobi - Overnight at a Nairobi Hotel Day 2 - Nairobi- Samburu Game Reserve Samburu National Reserve is located 325 kms north of Nairobi about 4-5hrs drive in the hot and arid northern region of Kenya.The reserve harbours a number of species rarely found anywhere else in the country which includes the Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the beisa oryx, the gerenuk, the Somali ostrich all of which are only found north of the equator. Dinner entertainment and overnight the Lodge Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve Have an early morning game drive followed by breakfast or choose to have one after breakfast and return to the lodge for lunch. Early afternoon at leisure until about 1600hrs where you will proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive. Animals expected to be seen here include, elephants, leopard, cheetah, buffalos, lions etc. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge Day 4: Samburu- Aberdares National Park After breakfast you will depart for Outspan hotel where you will have lunch. Here you leave your guide behind while the hotel vehicles transfer you to the Treetops Lodge. Aberdares National Park has a diverse topography that includes icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. The flora and fauna is quite unique and is not found elsewhere in the country, expect on Mount Kenya. Animals that can be seen here include Leopard, elephant, serval, waterbuck, reedbuck, dikdik, rhino and the rare mountain bongo. Elephants, buffalos always frequent the floodlit waterholes and can be seen from the comfort of your room. Dinner and Overnight at Treetops Lodge. Day 5: Aberdares- Lake Nakuru National Park After a sumptuous breakfast you will drive to Lake Nakuru National park arriving in time for lunch at the hotel. Early afternoon at leisure and in the evening depart for a game drive. Animals expected to be seen here include Lions, black and white Rhinos, Leopard, Rothschild giraffes and many more. Dinner and 0vernight at the lodge / Camp Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara National Reserve Early morning pick up and drive via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch with the magnificent views of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Margaret and Mt. Suswa on the way. A brief stop at the Masai Town of Narok. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well-spread rainfall year round. Rain, when it falls almost always chooses the late afternoon or night. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the sensation is unparalleled. Dinner and overnight at lodge/ Camp Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve Early morning you will have a wakeup call at around 0600hrs for a game drive in the Mara. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast. Rest of the morning at leisure. On this day also you can choose to have an optional balloon ride to have an aerial view of the Mara plains. After lunch the afternoon at leisure and at 1600 hrs proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Return to the lodge for dinner, entertainment and overnight Day 8: Maasai Mara- Nairobi After the hefty breakfast at the lodge you will depart for Nairobi at leisure to arrive in the late afternoon where you will be dropped at your hotel or be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
