& Puna birding tour covers an incredible diversity of dramatically scenic sites and habitats. We will explore the Pampas grasslands and thorny woodlands north of Buenos Aires before flying to Argentina’s remote northwest. Here we will seek out a plethora of range-restricted and highly sought-after birds in yungas cloudforests, high puna grasslands and chaco woodlands.
Targets include Southern Screamer, Black-legged Seriema, the extraordinary Lyre-tailed Nightjar, Straight billed Reedhaunter, White-tipped Plantcutter, Sandy Gallito, the localized Rufous-throated Dipper and Tucumán Mountain Finch, amongst many others.
This is a very comprehensive tour that is suitable for those who enjoy easy and accessible birding, awesome landscapes, travelling in comfortable vehicles, and staying in cosy lodges and
hotels along the way.

a) Due to constantly fluctuating exchange rates, we now quote our tours in 4 currencies. The tour price is however fixed only in the currency printed in bold (US$), and the actual cost in
the other currencies listed will be adjusted according to prevailing exchange rates at the time of final invoicing (usually 3 months before the tour.) Approximate domestic flight and single
supplement rates have been converted to US$ but are also subject to exchange rate movements.
b) Rates are based upon group tariffs; if the tour does not have sufficient registration (a minimum of 6 paying participants for the main tour, and 8 paying participants for the two extensions) a small party supplement will have to be charged.
c) Furthermore, these costs are subject to major foreign exchange fluctuations and unforeseen increases in tour related costs and may have to be adjusted as a result.

However, this does not include your M17026 leader. If, therefore, you feel that he has given you excellent service, it is entirely appropriate to tip him.
Much of our time is spent in vehicles, as we do have to cover long distances in order to get to the best areas for birds and animals. The more luggage you pack the less room there is in
the vehicle, so it is important for the comfort of your fellow travellers that you do not overpack. Kindly stick to 20kg (44lb) for check in luggage and 8kg (+-18lb) for hand luggage.
Argentina recently implemented a reciprocity fee for US, Canadian and Australian citizens to be paid online. Until now, this fee was paid upon arrival at the airport. Effective 31 October 2012 for arrivals to Aeroparque and effective 28 December 2012 for arrivals to Ezeiza International airport, The National Immigration Agency of Argentina has announced that all tourists from the above countries must now pay the reciprocity rates with their credit card through the online system, before arriving in Argentina. After these dates, cash payments will no longer be accepted at the airports, and failure to pay online will result in denied entry in to Argentina. The present rates are as follows for tourist single entry into Argentina: US$160 for Americans; Australia US$100; Canada US$75.
ARRIVAL ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE DETAILS:
This tour does not include ANY airfares. It is also important to note that there are two airports in Buenos Aires: Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) and Jorge Newberry Airport
(AEP), which is the domestic airport. Both the international and domestic airports cater for internal flights within Argentina. These airports are completely separate and the drive between them usually takes approximately 1 hour; however, in peak traffic this can take up to 1½ hours. It is therefore essential that you confirm with your travel agent the airport code in order to be sure which airport your flights arrive at and depart from.
The main Yungus Cloud Forest & Puna tour will depart from Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Buenos Aires) on day 1 at noon; kindly arrive in advance of this time on this
day or arrive the day before. Further meeting details in this regard will be forwarded to you in due course. The tour will conclude at Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Buenos Aires) on day 15.
If you wish to arrive early and/or depart late and would like assistance in this regard kindly contact the office.
Buenos Aires is the main port of entry for international flights in Argentina and is well serviced by all of the world’s major airlines. We have the capacity to advise you on the best route according to your preferences, but your local travel agent will best be able to book these flights for you. We can, however, book the internal flights on your behalf.
IMPORTANT: please DO NOT book your international flights until you have consulted the office for confirmation on the status of the tour.
