The immense state of Bahia is perhaps the most diverse in all of Brazil. On this tour, which can be taken in conjunction with our fabulous Brazil: North-eastern Endemics I – Alagoas & Beyond tour, we will explore all of the special habitats of this fascinating region.
We begin in the Atlantic Rainforests and humid mountain slopes of southeast Bahia, and work our way north and west. As we do so we will visit the best birding sites en route to the famed Chapada
Diamantina, which is hailed as perhaps the most breath-takingly beautiful of all Brazilian National Parks. From the endangered Bahia Tapaculo and gorgeous Banded Cotinga in the humid forests of the east, to the recently described Sincora Antwren and Diamantina Tapculo of the west, we will enjoy the best in both birding and hospitality that Bahia has to offer!
