Our Budget Namibia tour offers a selection of the best birding and wildlife destinations in Namibia in a compact 10 day, budget safari. We begin our journey in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital and an area that offers a superb introduction to Namibian birds. Thereafter, we drive through the ancient Namib Desert, a land of enormous red dunes and the bizarre Welwitschia, a gymnosperm restricted to the sands of this inhospitable desert.

The cold Benguela Current is responsible for the rich upwelling along southern Africa’s west coast, and its biological wealth we sample at Walvis Bay, an estuarine system that holds around 100,000 waterbirds in summer! Leaving the coast, we journey inland to the scenic Spitzkoppe before visiting the amazing Erongo Mountains.

Etosha National Park is world famous for its game viewing, and here we will sample its numerous mammalian (and avian!) delights, before reaching our final destination, the spectacular Waterberg; a massif that rises around 500 metres above the surrounding plains.

All in all, this tour promises an unbeatable experience for those wishing to sample the incredible wilderness of this modern African country.

a) Due to constantly fluctuating exchange rates, we now quote our tours in 4 currencies. The tour price is however fixed only in the currency printed in bold (ZAR South African Rands), and the actual cost in the other currencies listed will be adjusted according to prevailing exchange rates at the time of final invoicing (usually 3 months before the tour.) Approximate flight (where applicable) and single supplement rates have been converted to US$ but are also subject to exchange rate movements.
b) Rates are based upon group tariffs; if the tour does not have sufficient registration (a minimum of 7 paying participants) a small party supplement will have to be charged.
c) Furthermore, these costs are subject to unforeseen increases in tour related costs and may have to be adjusted as a result.
d) Lastly, we may be forced to change or alter the itinerary and / or the designated M17026 leader at short or no notice due to unforeseen circumstances; please be aware that we will attempt to adhere as close to the original program as possible.

As noted above, gratuities are included on this tour. However, this does not include your M17026 leader. Therefore, if you feel that he has given you excellent service, it is entirely appropriate to tip him.

This tour does not include any airfares. As we have a fair distance to cover on the first day, the tour will depart from Windhoek at 9am on Day 1. Kindly arrive in advance of this time on day 1 or the day before. Further meeting details in this regard will be forwarded to you in due course. The tour will conclude in Windhoek by mid afternoon on day 10. If you wish to arrive early and/or depart late and would like assistance in this regard, kindly contact the M17026 office.

Windhoek (Hosea Kutako International Airport) is the main port of entry for international flights into Namibia. The more reliable airlines with the most direct routing for these flights are Air Namibia and South African Airways. We have the capacity to advise you on the best route according to your preferences, but your local travel agent will best be able to book these flights for you. If you would like further assistance kindly contact the M17026 office, we have a full-time in-house travel consultant that will happily help you plan your route. However, please DO NOT book your international flights until you have consulted the M17026 office for confirmation on the status of the tour.

•Much of our time is spent in a specially converted overland Toyota Dyna, as we do have to cover long distances in order to get to the best areas for birds and animals. We recommend that you do not over-pack for the comfort of your fellow travellers and yourself. Kindly stick to 20kg (44lb) for check in luggage and 8kg (+-18lb) for hand luggage.
•During the tour, we visit several national parks and game reserves which contain potentially dangerous animals and therefore you are confined to the vehicle and are, quite understandably, not allowed to exit.
•Temperatures in Namibia can be high. If you suffer easily from heat exposure please do contact the RBT office for more information.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
