Sailing in comfort aboard our well-appointed vessel, we begin this 10 night expedition at the tip of South America, from where we then chart a course through the Drake Passage with selected visits through the South Shetland Islands. Finally arriving at the Great White Continent itself, we can expect to be dazzled by its sheer, pristine, magnificent splendour! The abundance of wildlife here is truly extraordinary and includes five seal species, massive Gentoo, Adélie and Chinstraps Penguin rookeries, plus a profusion of seabirds from huge albatross to tiny storm petrels. Cetaceans are also regular, ranging from the largest whales to the smaller yet striking Hourglass and Commerson’s Dolphins.

Our journey will take us to Petermann Island or Wilhelmina Bay where we encounter colossal icebergs and icy landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see. Hardy adventurers have the unique opportunity to camp out on the ice overnight and experience the thrill of the brave, early explorers who attempted to conquer this inhospitable continent. This journey to Antarctica is truly an incredible opportunity, and we invite you to join us on this once-in-a-lifetime expedition!

a) Due to constantly fluctuating exchange rates, we now quote our tours in 4 currencies. The tour price is however fixed only in the currency printed in bold (US$), and the actual cost in the other currencies listed will be adjusted according to prevailing exchange rates at the time of final invoicing (usually 3 months before the tour.) Approximate flight (where applicable) and single supplement rates have been converted to US$ but are also subject to exchange rate movements.
b) Please also note that a M17026 leader may not accompany the expedition unless a minimum of 10 participants are signed up through M17026. In the case that a M17026leader is not on board, the professional expedition staff will take care of all participants signed up through M17026.
c) Furthermore, these costs are subject to unforeseen increases in tour related costs (especially fuel) and may have to be adjusted as a result. You will be notified by email if fuel surcharges or other price adjustments need to be implemented.
d) Lastly, we may be forced to change or alter the itinerary and / or the designated M17026 leader/s at short or no notice due to unforeseen circumstances; please be aware that we will attempt to adhere as close to the original program as possible.

IMPORTANT CLIENT PROTECTION INITIATIVES:
In order to receive a 5% discount on the tour price on your booking, 50% of the tour fee must be paid within 30 days of M17026 receiving the payment of your deposit (US$1,500.00 pp) and the final outstanding balance is payable 90 days prior to departure. Furthermore, if you lose your source of income any time between your booking date and 90 days before departure, One Ocean will hold your deposit for up to one year and guarantee the original price of the booked tour, or refund the deposit minus a cancellation fee of US$500.00.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
•The above schedule is approximate and depends on sea conditions and other factors. We may be forced to change or alter the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, but please be aware that we will attempt to stick as close to the original program as possible.

•M17026 have taken an allotment on this cruise rather than chartering the cruise in entirety. We cannot therefore predict the number of M17026 participants that will be aboard the ship and therefore the number of M17026 guides. Furthermore, M17026 will need a minimum of 10 participants aboard in order to send out a M17026 leader to accompany our guests on this cruise. Any number less than 10 means that we will not have one of our leaders on the ship. Regardless, there will be a professional expedition leader aboard and he will have assistant leaders with him.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DETAILS:
This tour does not include any airfares. The tour will depart from Ushuaia on day 1 in the mid to late afternoon; further details in this regard will be emailed to you in due course. However, it is advisable to arrive the night before the start of the tour in Ushuaia to avoid missing embarkation. The tour should conclude by 9.00am (sea conditions can affect this time) on day 11 in Ushuaia. If you wish to arrive early and/or depart late and would like assistance in this regard, kindly contact the M17026 office.

FLIGHTS:
Buenos Aires is the main port of entry for international flights in Argentina and is well serviced by all of the world’s major airlines. From here there are regular connections to Ushuaia. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE TWO MAJOR AIRPORTS IN BUENOS AIRES AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE WHICH AIRPORTS ARE RELEVANT TO THE FLIGHTS YOU BOOK. These are Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) and Jorge Newberry Airport (AEP), which is the domestic airport. Both the international and domestic airports cater for internal flights within Argentina. These airports are completely separate and the drive between them usually takes approximately 1 hour; however, in peak traffic this can take up to 1½ hours. It is therefore essential that you confirm with your travel agent the airport code in order to be sure which airport your flights arrive at and depart from.We have the capacity to advise you on the best route according to your preferences, but your local travel agent will best be able to book these flights for you. However, please DO NOT book your international flights until you have consulted the M17026 office for confirmation on the status of the tour.
