Day 1 : Leh - Hemis
Travel by car from Leh (3500 Mts.) to Hemis (3505 Mts.). On the way visit the monasteries and on reaching Hemis accommodate in a hotel in Hemis for the night. Visit the monastery in Hemis, it is indeed a great installation.
Day 2 : Hemis Spend the day at Hemis
Get accustomed to the climate of Hemis and arrange for starting the trek. The day will be free for visiting the Gompa, whicgh constitutes the quarter meant for meditation of the monks. Meet the members of the trekking team and collect information on the trek.
Day 3 : Hemis - Sumdo - Chogdo (5-6 hr.)
Take a drive from Hemis to Sumdo and it will take approxmately one and half-hours. After reaching Sumdo, start trekking to Chogdo and upon reaching, stay at Chogdo camp.
Day 4 : Chogdo - Base of Kongmaru La (3 hr.)
It takes about 3 hours in trekking to the base of the Kongmaru La Pass, which is the site for a small camp. This is a place offering opportunity to see the Bharals or the Blue sheep. If you are an early riser, then it is most likely that you will have ample chances to capture them in you camera.
Day 5 : Base Camp - Kongmaru La - Nimaling (5 hr.)
It is better to start early on the following morning as it is the day, which will lead a trekking itinerary involving a short but a sritically stiff climb to the summit of the Kongmaru La Pass standing at a height of 5150 meters above sea level. The point provides charming vistas of the Kangyaze Mountain (6400 meters) overlooking the Nimling meadows (4650 meters), where you will be gradually descending to.
Day 6 : Nimaling - Langtang Chu (3-4 hr.)
In order to reach the proximity to the Kangyaze Mountain, one needs to cross the small ridges lying behind Nimaling. The descend to Langtang Chu (4750 Mts) leads you some rocky pathways, which happen to be sites fior various camps
Day 7 : Langtang Chu - Zalung Karpo La - Sorra (7-8 hr.)
The trekking schedule gradually tend to be exciting from Langtang Chu, an ascend to the top of the Zalung Karpo La ( 5100 meters). It takes about five hours to reach the point. One can walk along the ridge starting from the top of the pass and reach another small pass and then descend down to the foot of the valley at Sorra ( 4200 meters).
Day 8 : Sorra - Dat (4-5 hr.)
After Sorra, the next destination will be Dat, it is a journey of about 4-5 hours.
Day 9 : Dat - Yar La - Lungmo Che (6-7 hr.)
This is the day to trek to the peak of the Yar La Pass (4950 meters). It is not a difficult track at all to trek. Panoramic view of Rupshu valley can be attained from this site. The descent to the Lungmo Che village is very easy and takes a little more than an hour.
Day 10 : Lungmo Che - Lun (5-6 hr.)
The trek from Lungmo Chewill leads you to Lun, a place where the Khampas, the Tibetan nomads live. There are few villages on the way. The camp lies only at a distance of 3 kilometers before Lun. The next day will be spent in the camp in order to take rest after the hectic trekking schedule.
Day 11 : Rest - Reserve day
Take rest and spend the day in the way you want it to be.
Day 12 : Lun - Marang La - Camp (6-7 hr.)
The day again marks the start of the trek. The trekking track along Lun constitutes a picturesque plateau. The valley tends to be narrower as it gradually lead to the top of the Marang La ( 5270 meters). The way formed is the short cut taken by the viillagers until the main road opens up during Summer. The camping ground lie a few kilometers ahead of the village, the army camp is located at Takh. Reaching the camp mark the end of the trek and a special farewell dinner is served on the final day.
Day 13 : Camp - Takh - Sarchu (5-6 hr.)
The trek will be from the camp till Takh along the Leh - Manali road, and from there a jeep will be picking you up and will be taking youSarchu. The stay for the night will be at a permanent camp at Sarchu.
Day 14 : Sarchu - Jispa (6-7 hr.)
It will be better to take a drive to Jispa, starting from Sarchu over the Baralaccha La Pass. Stay in a hotel over there for the night.
Day 15 : Jispa - Manali (6-7 hr.)
The Kullu Valley is one of the most popular places in Himachal and so take a drive from Jispa and reach Manali in Kullu Valley. The night will be spent in a hotel there.
Day 16: Manali - New Delhi (14 hr.)
It takes about 14 hours to reach Delhi from Manali via Chandigarh by car. In case, you are in a hurry, a flight can be taken from Kullu to reach Delhi.
