Join us on a short safari through Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. The reserve was founded in 1895, making it the oldest game reserve in South Africa. It was here that the world acclaimed Operation Rhino was introduced in the 1960's. This game park has managed to turn the tide on this animal and has grown the numbers of White Rhino from around 500 in the 1960's to its current carrying capacity of around 6000. At least a fifth of the world's Black and White Rhino populations are found in the 96000ha park.
The tour departs from Durban, where we will collect you from the airport or your hotel. We travel north through the heart of Zululand until we get to the old hunting grounds of the legendary King Shaka. These hunting grounds are today known as the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, where we will stay for the duration of your tour. We will explore the wildlife of the park, which includes the Big 5 as well as the lesser known Small 5. You will be wined and dined in true African style.
