KZN Wildlife manages several top parks, some of which have accomplished great feats, like Hluhluwe-Imfolozi which is actually two parks that have been joined. This park single-handedly saved the Rhino with it's world acclaimed Operation Rhino, which was introduced in the 1960's. This game park has managed to turn the tide on this animal and has seen the numbers of White Rhino grow from around 500 in the 1960's to its current carrying capacity of around 6 000. At least a fifth of the world's Black and White Rhino populations are found in this 96 000ha park. Two of their parks have been accredited with World Heritage status.
