Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival (-/-/-).
On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, you are met by our guide and transferred to hotel. The bustling Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, is a center of commerce, finance, culture and tourism in Vietnam. This metropolis, contradiction of its northern counterpart, is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping areas and sidewalk cafes. (If time permits) we stroll around the down town to explore the different local ways of life. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnel (B/L/-).
Breakfast at the hotel. Then we begin a half-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City takes in the Notre Dame Cathedral - the most famous landmark as well as core Cathedral of the city, It is considered to be a famous age-long cathedral in Southern Vietnam that attract not only Catholics but also most tourists for its neo-Romanesque style architecture and a sacred atmosphere. Then we visit Old Post Office , It has a Gothic architectural style and was designed and constructed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel in harmony with the surrounding area. Now the building is a tourist attraction. After that we visit the Reunification Palace, the former Independence Palace, which was designed by architect Ngô Viết Thụ and was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates.
Afternoon: Transfer about 30 km north-west of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi town. Cu Chi tunnels were used as the base from which the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi tunnels consist of more than 200 km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels, the tunnels are between 0.5 to 1m wide, just enough for a person to crawl along. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho – Can Tho (B/L/D).
In the morning, heading out of town, we travel by roads to the Mekong Delta. This plain region boasts the largest rice bowl of Vietnam. On arrival in My Tho we board a boat navigating around the intricate small canals, which is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and catch a view dotted by many islands. The exciting river trip will pass by the lush green vegetation towards the famous Unicorn Island where we have a chance to stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits and see farmers at work. We navigate some narrower canals using small rowing boats to Ben Tre Province for an interesting visit to some local industries. The extra enjoyment is a lunch at one of the famous local eating spots. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to Can Tho. Arrive in Can Tho, the city located on Mekong Delta bank. Free at leisure Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 4: Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market - Chau Doc (B/L/D).
After breakfast, board a sampan to visit Cai Rang floating market and a fruit garden (Ba Cong) and then ride on a “xe loi” (motor cyclo) from Chap Phap Bridge to Binh Thuy Ancient House. Observe the rural life and enjoy the beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks. In the afternoon, drive to Chau Doc near the Cambodian border. On arrival, visit Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site with a host of Chinese, Cham and Khmer temples before checking into your hotel. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Day 5: Chau Doc - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/-).
After breakfast, travel through a fascinating floating village where fish are bred in their natural environment and learn more about Cham culture as you visit one of their villages and its mosque. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by road via Cao Lanh. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in the evening for check in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City departure (B/-/-).
Breakfast at the hotel. Free for your own activities until transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for your onward departure flight.
