Your tour starts in Kashgar, with its famous Sunday Bazaar where you will have the opportunity to see and buy anything that represents China for you. Next cities visited will include Urumqi, Turpan where you will visit the ruins of the ancient city of GaoChang, then Dunhuang with its amazing landscapes, Jiayuguan and Lanzhou, and finally Xian, the last point of our route from where you will be transferred to Beijing and then fly home.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Beijing. Met and transferred to hotel by car.
Day 2: Transfer to airport for flight to Kashgar. On arrival you will be taken to the Serman hotel.
Day 3: Full day sightseeing in Kashgar by car with your own English speaking guide.
Day 4: Today is a highlight of the trip – a visit to the famous Sunday Bazaar where you can marvel at the range of things for sale even if you don't by any!
Day 5: Transfer to airport for flight to Urumqi. On arrival stay at Huangqui hotel or similar.
Day 6: Sightseeing in Urumqi and visit to nearby Tianchi.
Day 7: Drive from Urumqi to Turpan. Stay in Oasis hotel or similar.
Day 8: Turpan, full day sightseeing visiting the ruined old city of GaoChang, and Ahstana tomb etc.
Day 9: Free day till night transfer to train station for departure of the train to Dunhuang.
Day 10: Arrive Dunhuang midday and transfer to hotel Dunhuang or similar.
Day 11: Full day tour to MaoGao Grottoes and Crescent Hill.
Day 12: Drive to Jiayuguan. If time permits some local sightseeing before going to train station for evening departure to Lanzhou.
Day 13: Morning arrival and transfer to hotel Jincheng or similar. Afternoon sightseeing.
Day 14: Lanzhou free day.
Day 15: Lanzhou to Xian by train. Transfer to hotel on arrival.
Day 16: Full day sightseeing by car with English speaking guide in Xian.
Day 17: Full day sightseeing by car in Xian.
Day 18: Xian to Beijing by train or air.
Day 19: Beijing free day or optional excursions are available if preferred.
Day 20: Transfer to airport for departure flight to USA.
This itinerary can also be taken in the reverse direction allowing extensions to the Central Asian “Stans” portion of the Silk Road. Please enquire for more details.
