This tour combines visits to the impressive remains built by ancient civilizations with the lush wildlife of the Central American jungles. You will stay in some beautiful jungle lodges as well as charming hotels along the route for a fuller experience of the region.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Depart USA airports by own flights (or contact us for suggestions). On arrival to Belize after clearing customs and immigration you will be met and transferred to the Biltmore Hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast begin an excursion along the Northern Highway to Crooked Tree Wildlife sanctuary where you will have a boat trip to observe the wildlife and birds etc. Lunch will be in Crooked Tree Village at a local restaurant or somewhere else convenient depending on your touring schedule. Later travel back along the northern Highway en route to the Community Baboon Sanctuary. Overnight at the Biltmore. (B/L).
Day 3: After breakfast you will have an excursion along the Northern Highway again, this time to the Tower Hill Tour Bridge. Here you board a boat to travel along the New River for a 1-2 hours tour of crocodiles, monkeys, birds, local community, flora and fauna. Arrive at Lamanai around 11-12 midday where you will have a packed lunch. Afternoon tour of Lamanai Maya Ruins and museum. Travel back by river and road to Belize and the Biltmore Hotel to be back by 5:00pm. (B/L).
Day 4: After breakfast depart along the Western Highway to the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center for a guided tour. From there continue on to Guanacaste Park for a hike there. A packed lunch (or lunch in Belmopan) is included Afterwards travel the Hummingbird Highway for a birding walk along a tropical trail and a swim in the blue hole. Drive back to the Western Highway en route to Windy Hill Resort. Dinner and overnight at Windy Hill Resort. (B/L/D).
Day 5: After breakfast travel through the Belize river valley and ferry across the Mopan River to Xunantunich for sightseeing of the fascinating ruins located there. Packed Lunch. After lunch you will be met at the border by the guide form Guatemala who will take you the rest of the journey to Flores, Guatemala. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel Jungle Lodge, Tikal. (B/L/D).
Day 6: After breakfast begin your first day of exploring Tikal National Park with your guide. Lunch is included during the day. Dinner and overnight in Hotel Jungle Lodge. (B/L/D).
Day 7: Breakfast and then further time to explore the wonder of Tikal with your guide, lunch included. In the late afternoon you will make the journey to Rio Dulce. Dinner and overnight at Bananapalms. (B/L/D).
Day 8: After breakfast transfer to Quirigua, for sightseeing there then on to Copan, where you will visit the ruins. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Marina Copan. (B/L/D).
Day 9: After breakfast continue touring the Copan ruins with your guide. Lunch will be provided. By late afternoon transfer back to Rio Dulce. Dinner and overnight at Bananapalms. (B/L/D).
Day 10: After breakfast commence the journey back to Belize stopping for lunch on the way and ending at Windy Hill Resort. Dinner and overnight at Windy Hill Resort. (B/L/D).
Day 11: After breakfast you will be taken to Mountain Pine Ridge for a walk in the jungle during which your guide will give you information about the medicinal plants growing there. A visit to the Butterfly Farm is also included. Dinner and overnight at Windy Hill Resort. (B/L/D).
Day 12: After breakfast head off for a canoe trip down the Macal River to San Ignacio observing the birds and animals along the way. Later continue by vehicle to the heart of Mountain Pine Ridge to visit the Rio Frio cave and then some time for swimming before return to Windy Hill Resort for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D).
Day 13: After breakfast drive to Belize City where you will catch the short flight to San Pedro on the Ambergris Caye. Here you will have a full free day for relaxing and snorkeling or other optional beach activities. Overnight at Belize Yacht Club. (B).
Day 14: After breakfast you have an excursion to Bird Caye in the morning followed by a free afternoon for swimming or relaxing on your own. Overnight at Belize Yacht Club. (B).
Day 15: After breakfast you will have free time to relax before the transfer for the flight to Belize airport to catch your connecting flights to USA. (B).
