We start the day breakfast and then with a transfer to the city airport for a flight in small Chesna Aeroplane from the domestic airport Enrique Olaya Herrera (EOH). After a short flight (40 min.) admiring the endless green tropical forests of the Pacific lowlands of Colombia we arrive in Nuquí, where our guide from the Community Tourism Alliance will meet us and bring us by boat to our accommodation. The Eco-lodge is located at Guachalito beach, half an hour down the coast from Nuquí. On the way, we will enjoy the incredible landscapes where the mountains descent to the sea. After a fresh lunch, we will enjoy a free afternoon on the beaches of Guachalito, where you can snorkel, swim or just relax in a hammock in front of your Eco-hotel.

Day 3: Community visits: Jungle River and mangroves. Early morning Yoga this morning. After breakfast, we will go by boat to the Joví community. From there, a local guide will provide information about the place and the community tourism organisation of the locals, before boarding a chingo, an artisanal canoe. Travel by chingo up the Joví River, a shallow, slow moving river where we can see birds and other animals. After an hour, we will arrive at a waterfall in the rainforest, where you can take a dip in the crystal-clear water in the middle of the jungle. Return by chingo to Joví. Afterwards we travel by boat to the neighbouring community of Coquí, where we will enjoy a traditional lunch of the Pacific Coast prepared by some of the best cooks in the Choco region. Coquí is located on a small island surrounded by mangrove forest. Accompanied by a guide from the village ecotourism association we explore the nearby mangrove forests which is considered to be one of the best-preserved mangroves in Colombia. Here, we can spot rare birds and tropical plants. After the tour, return by boat to our Eco-hotel at Guachalito beach.

Day 4: Utría National Park and volunteering at Turtle Project. Early morning Yoga this morning before breakfast. This morning we travel by boat to the unique National Park Utría. The protected area is among the most beautiful natural sceneries of the country. Due to its unique beauty it is already a natural landmark of Colombia. This is where the humpback whales come to raise their newborns. The tropical forest reaches the remote sandy beaches protected by small islands. After a guided tour to the visitor´s centre, a wooden path will take us around the mangroves where you can learn more about this important Eco-system. After a delicious lunch at the remote island Playa Blanca you will actively participate in a wildlife conservation project run by a local family. The precious sandy beach San Pichí is one of the most important beaches for endangered sea turtles. Here we will support the family preparing the beach for the turtles to come and make it easier for the vulnerable animals to get on the beach burying their eggs. Afterwards we head back to our Eco-lodge.

After relaxing in the waterfall for a while, we return to the community of Termales. At the end of the trail we will find a natural hot spring, for which the town is named.
