During winter, waterfalls in the Alps freeze up and become spectacular ice-climbing venues. The stunning Chamonix Valley has about 20 sites of varying length and difficulty all with stunning backdrops. Ice-climbing is suitable for anyone with basic climbing skills and lots of determination! Ice-climbing is suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced climbers. No previous experience is required although some basic knowledge of rope skills and abseiling together with rock climbing experience is useful. We will pair climbers according to their abilities and ambitions. Good general fitness and stamina are essential as well as commitment and determination. Climbing related training at your local climbing wall or gym is good training and preparation for ice-climbing.
