Day 1: Transfer by car from Bucharest Airport (Otopeni) to Bucharest (30 km = 20 miles). Evening town walk. Accommodation in Bucharest. (** hotel/hostel).
Day 2: Visit Bucharest: View of the Royal palace, formal royal family residence. Walk on to Curtea Veche (the old court). Have Lunch at Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc Inn), old building of 18th century. View “People’s House”, second largest building in the world (after Pentagon). If time allows, short Visit of the village museum (open air). Transfer by car to Poienari Village. Accommodation in Poienari area. (** guest-house).
Day 3: Breakfast in the guest-house. Visit Ruins of Poienari Castle, considered the real “Dracula Castle”, as being more connected to the legend of Vlad Tepes than the better preserved and better promoted Bran. Transfer by car to Marginimea Sibiului area. Interesting architecture, fortified churches of XIII-th century to visit. Accommodation in Rasinari.(** guest-house).
Day 4: Breakfast in the guest-house. Visit Medias old town and some fortified churches in Transylvania. Optional visit to Sighisoara in order to view the town from the clock tower (that you’ve missed last year).
Transfer by car thru Maramures Area.
Day 5: Reaching Maramures county. Visit the merry cemetery in Sapanta (the unique merry graveyard in Europe). Visit wooden churches, part of UNESCO world heritage. These are the tallest churches made entirely in wood. As stated by UNESCO, the Maramures wooden churches are "outstanding examples of vernacular religious wooden architecture resulting from the interchange of Orthodox religious traditions with Gothic influences in a specific vernacular interpretation of timber construction traditions, showing a high level of artistic maturity and craft skills".
Day 6: Visit Maramures. Stop in villages to view the traditional handcraft, as well as typical households of Maramures. Transfer by car to Moldova area (~3-4 hours). Visit Putna Monastery, the biggest of these monasteries.
Day 7: Visit Moldovian monasteries. Visit Suceava city, old capital of Moldova. Visit Neamt Moanstery. Visit Moldovita, Sucevita Monastery. Accommodation in Moldovita monastery (alternative accommodation options available, shall the monastery not be available at the time of your visit).
Day 8: Visit Voronet Monastery, famous for it’s blue of Voronet, a color that rests intact since XVIth century. Visit Agapia Monastery. Accommodation in Agapia Monastery.
Day 9: Transfer by car towards Danube Delta. Accommodation in Tulcea City or in a village in Danube Delta.
Day 10: Visit fishermen’s village, in order to see the tools, traditions, etc. Transfer thru the Black sea coast.
Day 11: Snap view of the Black sea coast. Transfer by car to Bucharest. Accommodation in Bucharest.
Day 12: Transfer to airport according to flight schedule.
