Each day we will learn about the common culture and history of Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany because the Sudetes bring these three countries together. On the second day, we will wander to the source of the Elbe River – one of the major rivers in Europe, which starts in the Sudetes, winds its way through the Czech Republic and Germany and flows into the North Sea. On the third day, we will visit the twelfth-century Wang temple, which was constructed in Norway. In 1841, it was dismantled and transported to Berlin before finally finding its place in our mountains in year 1842. So now this excellent example of Norwegian, wooden, sacral architecture can be admired in the middle of the Sudetes. On the fourth day we will reach highest peak of Sudetets – Sniezka (1602 m above sea level) On the fifth day, we will go to the Saint Anna’s Chapel located in the middle of the wood.
Arrival at Prague where our representative will greet you; transfer to a hotel located in Szklarska Poreba or Jakuszyce, a mountain town/village on the Polish side of the Sudety Mountains; check-in; welcome meeting and free time. Transfer time: 2 hrs. 20 min.
Trek from Szklarska Poreba or Jakuszyce to Spindlerovy Mlyn – charming Czech mountain town.

- Altitude: starting point – 720 m, highest point – 1460 m, final point – 650 m.
- Overall route length: 18 km.
After breakfast trek directly from the hotel on trail which leads through picturesque forests, traverses, cirques and we reach the main ridge . After ascent stop for rest on the main ridge. Crossing the border to Czech Republic and walk to the source of the Elba river (one of the greatest rivers in Europe); walk down through Labsky Dul to Spindlerovy Mlyn (a well known, charming mountain town), on the way beautiful panoramic views, waterfalls, amazing rock formations. Check in, dinner, info meeting.
Trek from Spindlerovy Mlyn to Karpacz
- Total time: 7 hrs. including meal breaks and rest.
- Altitude: starting point – 620 m, highest point – 1422 m, final point – 650 m.
- Overall route length: 14 km
After breakfast we take a blue trail and ascend Bila Laba Dul (White Elbe Valley). Next we go along the Old Bucharova path and reach Lucni Bouda mountain hostel, where we take a rest and have lunch. In the meantime, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views and open spaces. After the break, we will walk to Rownia pod Sniezką and trek above Maly and Wielki Staw (mountain ponds). From there we descend smoothly to the boundaries of Karpacz, a beautiful Polish mountain town, and stop at Wang, a twelfth century Lutheran temple. After a rest and an optional visit to the temple, we walk down to the hotel. We check in, have dinner, a briefing, and some free time.
Trek on to Sniezka Peak
- Total walk time: 8hrs including meal breaks and rest.
- Altitude: starting point – 650 m, highest point 1602 m, final point – 650 m.
- Overall route length: 16 km.
After breakfast, direct from hotel, we get red trail which leads onto the peak Sniezka. First stage is a gentle ascent on forest route. After about one hour we reach mountain lodge Nad Lomniczka. Then we gently descend to the bottom of the Lomniczka Cirque. Once we pass the creek, we start a steep climb onto main ridge. On the ridge there is another mountain hut and viewer point so we can get a rest before last stage of the climb on the highest peak Sniezka. After reaching the top and rest, we go to back to hotel in Karpacz getting completely different route through Maly Staw Cirque.
Walk from the hotel to Saint Anna’s Chapel and Good Spring.
Coach trip to Prague
- Total walking time: 5 hrs. including meal breaks and rest.
- Altitude: starting point – 650 m, final point – 520 m.
- Overall route length: 7 km.
After breakfast we take a green and then a red trail, which lead through a hilly area, to a chapel located in the middle of a forest. There is a beautiful viewpoint there, and under the chapel, there is a source of a mountain creek. Legend has it that its waters have extraordinary properties. If you get a sip and run around the chapel 7 times, your wish will be fulfilled. There we will have some time for lunch as well. After that we take a short walk to a car park, where we get on a deluxe coach. We should reach our hotel in Prague in around 3 hrs. After checking in, we will rest and have dinner in the hotel.
Breakfast, free time or an optional 4 to 5 hrs. long guided sightseeing program: Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, Old Town City Hall, Powder Gate. Since the very beginnings of the Czech state, Prague has been its political, business and cultural centre. This historic yet modern city is more than 1,000 years old. It has an extraordinary charm about itself which can be sensed in every season. Hundred-spire Prague”, “Prague – the mother of cities”, “Magical Prague” are just three titles which the capital of the Czech Republic proudly bears. Its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site speaks for its worth.
After breakfast, we check-out and transfer to the airport. Transfer time: approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on the traffic.
