These weeks can incorporate a range of activities including rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, via ferrata, canyoning, swimming and white-water rafting. This week will not just be a holiday but an opportunity to participate in a range of activities, to learn new skills in a secure, friendly and rewarding environment and to have Fun!

This course requires no previous alpine experience and you will receive training in all activities from professional mountain leaders.
Stamina: *
These weeks require a reasonable level of fitness and a good head for heights!
Participants are recommended to prepare themselves in advance with regular aerobic activity (e.g. walking, running and/or cycling). More detailed suggestions as to pre-trip preparation will be provided.
For some activities you will need to carry a small rucksack (7-10kg maximum weight).
As with all physical activities, the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the activities.
Tour Itinerary:
Note: the exact itinerary will depend on a number of different factors including the weather and ground conditions, activity preferences and fitness/experience of the group. It will also be feasible for the group to plan their own activities and be responsible for navigation and leading themselves in small groups excellent leadership training. The following itinerary is therefore a suggestion only:
Day 1: Travel to Geneva and transfer to St Gervais (approx 1 hr).
Welcome from Mountain Tracks Director of Programmes with briefing on the week's itinerary. Stay overnight in gite.
Day 2: A picturesque train ride up to the Mer de Glace, descend onto the glacier, instruction on walking/ climbing on ice, rope work and crevasse rescue. Return to the gite in the early evening.
Day 3: Spend the day mountain biking on the trails around St Gervais and Les Contamines. This area has some of the best mountain biking trails in the French Alps. Trails are easily accessible and suitable for all ages and all levels. There are numerous ½ day and full-day options. Return to St Gervais and stay overnight in the gite.
Day 4: Drive to Samoens (1 hour) for a morning of white water rafting, canyoning and Kayaking on the Giffre River. In the afternoon try out the via ferrata route Le Mont' at nearby Sixt.
Return to the gite in the late afternoon.
Day 5: An opportunity for a 2-day hike into the heart of the Mont Blanc range with an overnight stay in the Refuge des Conscrits.
Day 6: In the morning return via the glacier and complete the hike by descending to Les Contamines. Evening activity BBQ and swimming down at Passy lake. Overnight in the gite.
Day 7: Climbing and walking in the Aiguilles Rouge National Park with a chance to see chamois ands rare Alpine flowers with fantastic views over the area. Weather permitting bivvy overnight under the stars.
Day 8: Spend the morning in St Gervais before returning to Geneva Airport by mid afternoon.
