5 half-days off-piste instruction (3 hours per day) plus 1 "freeskiing" day when no instruction is provided.
The principal aims of these weeks are:
- To provide first class off-piste ski instruction & tuition from professional, friendly Ski
Instructors to radically improve your off piste skiing technique.
- To give practical mountain awareness training on the hazards and risks associated with
skiing off-piste particularly for avalanches.
- To provide the opportunity to ski the best off piste in the 3 Valleys ski region.
Skill: The Level 4 Off-Piste Performance courses were previously called "Off-Piste Beginner". These courses are ideal for skiers who have never skied off-piste or have limited off-piste experience (less than 2 weeks). All participants need to be competent on-piste, capable of skiing parallel at a steady pace on all red runs whatever the conditions and easy black runs. These weeks will be run by Ski Instructors with focus on comprehensive off-piste instruction.
Level 5 courses are aimed at skiers with some off-piste experience (e.g. completed a Performance Level 4 course or similar) and who are looking for further intensive off-piste instruction. These weeks will be run by Ski Instructors and the focus will be on selecting terrain that will really challenge you and take your skiing to the next level.
The performance level 6 courses are for strong all-round skiers with excellent fitness. You should be able to ski off-piste confidently on all but the steepest slopes and the trickiest conditions. These weeks will be led by Ski Instructors and the focus will be getting you to a level where you can ski confidently on all terrain and all snow types in a smooth and fluid manner.
For the off-piste performance courses you need to have good allround fitness and stamina. We recommend that you prepare for any trip by running, cycling or any other keep-fit activity. Generally the fitter you are, the more fun you will have. Itineraries vary depending on the composition of the group and the weather and snow conditions.

Moving Levels During the Course: We try to encourage movement between groups during the course if necessary. So if you are looking for greater challenges or would like to take it easier we have that flexibility
It's Your Course: Remember it's your course. You know how fast you want to ski, what challenges you would like to make, what aspect of skiing you would like to improve. Don't worry about 'not being able to keep up' or on the other hand 'not being challenged enough'. We will design the course around you.
Your age & fitness?: Fitness - If you are concerned about your fitness at all please speak to us, email us. It is better to drop or raise your level slightly if you feel you are below or above average fitness. Call us to discuss if you are at all concerned about your age or fitness.
Hiring Ski Equipment: Having the right equipment, both for your level and the type of skiing that you plan to do is vital in helping you to develop your performance as quickly as possible. Our instructors will be available at the welcome evening prior to the start of the course, it is advisable to wait until you have spoken to them if you are at all unsure of what equipment to hire or email us firstname.lastname@example.org for any advice prior to your course.
Coming on the Course by Yourself: Don't worry if you are on your own, it's a great way to ski with people of similar standard and there are always others to ski with outside of the course. Many clients come by themselves year after year, it’s a formula that works!
Different Levels Amongst your Partners and Friends: Many couples and groups consist of skiers of different levels. Our courses are a great way to spend a skiing holiday. No more frustration of 'not being able to keep up' or skiing 'too slowly on easy runs'. You can ski with others who are the same level as yourself and still have time to ski with partners and friends outside of the course. If course times are different we alternate the sessions every other day (see booking conditions).
Duration & Prices: Trip duration is 7 days with 5 half-days of off-piste instruction. The price includes the course fees and 7 nights chalet-board accommodation. The price does not include: flights, transfers, lift pass, lunches, beverages, personal insurance, equipment hire.
