This itinerary covers the best of Egypt combining historical sightseeing of Cairo, the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, Memphis and Sakkara, and Alexandria and a relaxing Nile cruise with all the brilliant civilization of ancient Egypt along the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan via deluxe 5-star cruise ship.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Home / Cairo. Depart your hometown today for Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be greeted by our local guide and transferred to Pyramids Park Inter-Continental Hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. (D)
Day 3: Cairo. Full day city tour will feature the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo, the Hanging Church, and Pharoah’s Village. (B, D)
Day 4: Cairo / Alexandria / Cairo. You will enjoy a full day excursion to Alexandria, the city founded by Alexander the Great. Here you will visit the Greek/Roman Museum, Catacombs, Pompei’s Pillar, Montaza Palace and other attractions. Return to Cairo. (B, D)
Day 5: Cairo / Luxor. You will be transferred to the airport in the morning for a fl ight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and taken to your Nile cruise ship. This afternoon, you will visit Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Nile Cruise. Cross the West Bank and visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of Kings, Valley of Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Esna. Cross the locks and sail on to Edfu. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Nile Cruise. Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple shared by two gods, Sobek and Haroeris. Overnight in Kom Ombo. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Nile Cruise. Sail to Aswan and visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae. View the Elephantine Island by felucca and visit the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Aswan / Cairo. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport and fl y back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Pyramids Park Inter-Continental Hotel. This afternoon, you will visit Memphis, ancient capital of Egypt, where you will see a beautiful statue of Ramses II. Next, you will visit Sakkara, a city of the dead, to see the Step Pyramid built by Zoser I in 2686 B.C., which is the world’s oldest stone structure. Return to hotel for dinner. (B, D)
Day 10: Cairo / Home. This morning, you will be taken to the airport for departure. (B)
