Kenya Highlights Safari is available as a 3 & 4 or 5 star accommodation safari covering diverse areas of pristine landscape to include lakes, savanna and mountains. Group departures are guaranteed with a minimum of 2 people. Each vehicle will only carry 7 people to guarantee a window seat to all. This does not apply to city transfers.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi
After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta Airport you are met and transferred to the respective Nairobi hotel. Use of room is not guaranteed before noon. The remainder of the day is spent at leisure. You will be transferred to the Carnivore restaurant at 7pm for dinner. Overnight at Holiday Inn Mayfair or Jacaranda Hotel (D). 4&5 star option: The Stanley.
Option activities available in Nairobi: (not included in rate)
- Nairobi City tour (2 hours) at 10Am and 2pm
- Bomas of Kenya (3 hours) at 2:30pm
- Karen Blixen, Giraffe Centre, Kazuri and Utamaduni (4 hours) at 2pm
- Nairobi National Park (4 hours) at 9am and 2pm
- Animal orphanage or safari walk and Mamba village (3 hours) at 2pm
- Art trail (4 hours) at 10am
Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu/ Shaba
Breakfast is at the hotel before a drive via Karatina and crossing the equator at Nanyuki, en route to Samburu/ Shaba National Reserve. Lunch is at the respective reserve before the afternoon game viewing drive. Overnight at Samburu Lodge or Sarova Shaba Lodge or Samburu Sopa Lodge (FI). 4&5 star option: Samburu Serena Lodge.
Day 3: Samburu/ Shaba - Aberdares
The day starts with an early morning game drive and then breakfast at the lodge, before driving to the Aberdares area, arriving in time for lunch at the Outspan Hotel. An afternoon transfer is in hotel shuttle vehicles, into the Aberdare National Park to the Treetops for a night of game viewing, from the lodge precincts. Overnight at Treetops Lodge (FI). 4&5 star option: The Ark.
Day 4: Aberdares - Lake Naivasha or Lake Nakuru
If your overnight was at Treetops, then the return shuttle transfer is to Outspan Hotel for breakfast. If your overnight was The Ark, then the return shuttle transfer is to Aberdares Country Club for breakfast. Rejoin your driver/ guide and depart for the Rift Valley arriving for lunch at a lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park. Late afternoon game viewing and bird watching is enjoyed this afternoon.
Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill or Lake Nakuru Lodge (FI) OR early evening drive to Lake Naivasha area for dinner. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa or Rift Valley Golf Lodge (FI) 4&5 star option: Same hotels but superior or deluxe rooms.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara
After breakfast you continue your safari west past Mount Longonot and via Narok to the Maasai Mara National Reserve to arrive for lunch at the respective lodge or camp. This afternoon is spent on a game viewing drive. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Simba Lodge or Keekorok Lodge (FI) 4&5 star option: Mara Serena Lodge.
Day 6: Maasai Mara
Today is spent enjoying a morning and afternoon game drive in the reserve, with spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Simba Lodge or Keekorok Lodge (FI) 4&5 star option: Mara Serena Lodge.
Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nairobi and Depart
After breakfast at the lodge or camp you will drive with you will be driven back to Nairobi. On arrival in the early afternoon, you will be dropped off at the Holiday Inn Mayfair or Jacaranda Hotel (use of room is excluded) and then transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your scheduled international flight to arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to flight departure time. Meal plan: Breakfast.
Please note: standard rooms at Treetops include communal bathrooms and toilet facilities, upgrade to an en suite room on request and additional cost. Children under 5 not allowed at The Treetops. Children under 7 not allowed at Ark.
