Okavango Delta - Moremi - Savute (Victoria Falls & Cape Town). Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Johannesburg Arrive and transfer to The Westcliff hotel for a luxurious overnight stay. With wealth built on gold, Johannesburg is lively, affluent and cosmopolitan, offering the visitor a tempting array of superb restaurants, elegant designer boutiques and bustling world-class shopping centers. Rooms offer total privacy and most have sunny, private balconies with spectacular views over the Zoological Gardens and the forested northern suburbs of Johannesburg. Days 2-4: Moremi Wildlife Reserve After breakfast, leave Johannesburg on a scheduled flight to Maun in Botswana, and transfer by light aircraft to the game rich Khwai area of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve for two nights at Khwai River Lodge. Daily activities include excellent bird watching and game drives in open-sided vehicles, where the incredible sight of elephant or lion will remain with you forever. Relax with a leisurely afternoon swim in the pool. Guided walks and night-time game drives are also offered. Khwai River Lodge also has its own “Naturally Wild” Spa treatment centre where you can unwind further with a complimentary Soul of the Earth massage. Days 5-6: Okavango Delta After early game viewing and brunch at Eagle Island, fly on to Eagle Island Camp. Enjoy two nights at the camp among the prolific birdlife of the island and surrounding Delta. Hear the swish of the paddle and the splash of the Fish Eagle as you take a tranquil mokoro trip through the Delta, water levels permitting. Days 7-9: Chobe National Park (Savute) After early morning game viewing and brunch at Eagle Island Camp, transfer via light aircraft to the Savute region of the Chobe National Park - an area renowned for its high concentration of elephant and for its dramatic ecosystem. During your three-night stay at the Savute Elephant Camp there are excellent opportunities to experience these grey giants and other large game at close quarters under the skilled direction of an expert guide. Marvel at the fascinating contrasts in the landscape which provides a natural habitat to innumerable animals and birdlife. Day 10: Return to Johannesburg or select tour extension After a morning activity and breakfast you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your return charter to Maun and connecting flight to Johannesburg. Alternatively, you may elect to continue on to Victoria Falls or Cape Town – see our tour extensions below. Days 11-12: Livingstone (Victoria Falls) After a morning game viewing and brunch, transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kasane/Livingstone. Your two night stay is at Tongabezi Lodge situated on the banks of the Zambezi just upstream of the Victoria Falls. The lodge has 10 luxury cottages built within well maintained grounds, each with its own deck to facilitate private viewing of the river. Staying 2 nights at the Tongabezi Lodge with return flights to Johannesburg. or Days 11-13: Cape Town In the afternoon, return to Maun for your connecting flight direct to Cape Town and to the Mount Nelson Hotel for three nights. Days are free at leisure to explore this exciting and cosmopolitan city. Optional activities on offer include a full day visit to Cape Point, the most south-westerly point of Africa, and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or a cable car ride to the summit of Table Mountain and a boat transfer to the infamous prison on Robben Island, whose most famous inmate was Nelson Mandela. Alternatively, enjoy traditional wine-tasting on a Cape Winelands excursion, or you may like just to do some shopping for the day. The Mount Nelson Hotel.
