Our guided sea kayak tours are based out of a rustic 7-room lodge, renowned God's Pocket Resort, alone on a wilderness island in God's Pocket Provincial Park and Marine Preserve off the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (Port Hardy is nearest airport). You will have the luxury of warm beds/showers at night, hot tub and delicious meals (including baked goods made fresh on-site, locally-caught seafood and wines) and kayaking in search of humpback whales, otters, sea lions, bald eagles and porpoises by day, with our knowledgeable guides. 5 or 6-day tour includes all equipment and instruction; you won't find a better value! Novices welcome. Yoga also on some trips.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Meet our guides at 8:30 am in Port Hardy, on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Motorboat 1 hour to God's Pocket Resort on island in God's Pocket marine preserve (included). Kayak orientation and afternoon paddle. Includes: (L), (D). Days 2-5: Explore the island chain by foot and kayak (average 4-5 hours a day of paddling) looking for whales and other marine mammals, eagles, etc. Enjoy appetizers and bountiful meals prepared by the lodge's chef and evenings in the rec room or if weather is fine, we'll enjoy a night paddle in the bioluminesence or a beach bonfire. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 6: Enjoy a continental breakfast of freshly baked pastries and full assortment of hot drinks as we head back to Port Hardy on the lodge's power boat.
