Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Early in the morning we take the transfer to Palo Blanco, in the north of the Delta. In a two hours boat ride we go through this immensity main river in Venezuela, rainforest around you, green colors give you the sensation of just how deep the jungle is. There are some Indians villages along the way. Our camp is located at the bank of the Orinoco. After lunch, we take a boat ride to Cano Culebra, and hike through this amazing vegetation, our native guide explains the use of the trees and medicinal plants. Next, try the palmheart "palmito" which grows in the region. Late in the afternoon we visit the bird island, where we see hundreds of birds like herons, cormorants, parrots and pigeons. They all come during dusk to find a place to sleep and produce an earsplitting spectacle. Then we return to the camp, where dinner is already waiting for us.

Day 2: Visit to an Indian settlement and fishing trip. This day offers you the possibility to hear the red howler and other monkeys, if we are lucky enough maybe a dolphin will come out to give you a splash welcome. We stopover in Warao´s settlements, to see how they live on water with the typical palafitos, the same ones which impulsed Colombus to call Venezuela the Little Venecia. Small ridges connect the houses, and outside they are working, making baskets, or hammocks with the Palmito palm. In the late afternoon we drive back to camp.

Day 3: After breakfast we can do a hike around the island or go fishing. Finally drive back to Puerto Ordaz.
