Walking and hiking through the Sierra Nevada National Park, important Serranía in Venezuela. Leaving Mérida city, to ascend walking from La Mucuy, nice walk plenty of green colors and birds, clear and small rivers offer you a moment to fresh up.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Meeting to pick up, equipments, after continue our route to La Mucuy, there we start our walk through this tropical forest, watching some birds on our 5 hours walk, to arrive to Laguna de Coromoto (3.200 m). This will be our first camp, where we enjoy the sunset, and lagoons looking like mirrors, framing the mountains in the water. Day 2: This day, we continue, leaving back the clear and cloud Coromoto Lagoon, to ascend other 1.000 meters, looking to stay closest to the Humboldt´s peak. On the way, to the Green Lagoon which is at the base of Humboldt and Bonplaud, the sceneries open up for incredible views to the surrounding mountains. Same further we set up our camp on the Suero Lagoon (4.200 m). Day 3: After breakfast full of energy, we start the ascending. Going up to the glacier, using crampons, crossing snow and rocky stones, looking forward to the Humboldt summit (4.942 m). Once there, we will enjoy these spectacular views to the Bolívar Peaks, and Colombian Serranía, feeling like seating on the top of the window’s world! After we go back to Laguna El Suero, check behind us, to contemplate the mountains. Day 4: Today, we start to pick up the equipment, and the descent to Coromoto lagoon, having a picnic around. We take a short break and then continue going back to La Mucuy Park. Leaving this close experience with mountains behind you, and go back to Mérida city. Recommend bringing: - Warm clothes for the mountain - Gortex rain jackets and pants - Good waterproof boats - Sweater - Bugs spray - Sun block/sun glasses - Sneakers or trekking shoes - Camera and films jeans or long trousers.
