Our guide will help you to understand the importance of rivers and endemic islands, walk, climb, sleep in our camp, thinking about this experience, this lands were witness of important geological movements, and for the good bye moment visit Kavac, impressive canyon with clear waters, and a pretty pool to give you a fresh experience.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Take a flight with a Cessna plane from Ciudad Bolivar, is the first step to feel us closer of this Tepuys, flying southwards, we are looking forward Auyantepuy (700 Km surface), in the way, “Cerro Bolivar and one of the largest iron ore mines in the world are able to see, it looks like a good colors mix, between jingle greens and oranges. Nest water spaces, Guri lake, a and in few minutes the view show us Canaima National Park, hugest wall of Auyantepuy rises in front of your eyes, according with weather Angel fall will be next, flying through Cañon del Diablo, and arriving to the almost 1.000 m fall “Angel Fall”. Close to mid day we reach Uruyen, to start our trek, first we enjoy a fresh up moments in rivers, and get ready all the staff to start the walk, porters will help you out, our first destiny point is Guayaraca, first camp to stay close to the mountain. Here we note the changes of vegetation, arriving to the camp around 5.

Day 2: Today walk is around 6-7 hours. Going through the high savannah, we need to start the walk before the sun gives us its shiny warmness, Auyantepuy´s wall get closer, landscapes is changing and endemic species are included in our explore today, wet roots ask to watch your step, finally we arrive to El Peñón camp, which is an overhanging rock at 1.600 m.

Day 3: Adventure, walk and climb, with 7 hours trekking, are in program, today the morning will give you a cloud’s carpet welcome. El Libertador is the first place to arrive, and is the entrance to climb up to this Tepuy. Overcoming the rocks will need use ropes in some places, because we don’t have any hold for our hands. This new experience, will bring us to the top, maybe tired, but ready to discover this new and completely different ecosystem. Next to the abyss at the Pico Libertador will be time for lunch. Recovering energy, and living be part of this, we continue three hours more until arrive to El Oso, here is our camp, for next three nights. Close there is a pretty and peaceful waterfall waiting for you to clean up the tiredness.

Day 4: Exploring, walking, relaxing, reading, during the morning we take a break, maybe to wash your clothes (hopefully will be dry). Our guide will give us interesting comments and explanations related with all this important vegetation, and species, some of them are unknown yet for the science world, and you can appreciate the sediment layers that created this ancient vast shield that has formed the Lost World in millions of years.

Day 5: Walk looking forward Campo Helecho point and we can have the first encounter with the water coming form Angel Fall, this required to require trekking trough the rocky scenery of Auyan tepuy walls, black stones, small communities of endemic species and muddy parts, Indians Tales are narrating for our guide, after we enter into a rainforest green place, leaving the plains. In the curve of Churun river (knowing now its importance), we take a break for lunch, with the chance to jump into this red waters. Following our path, we see how river disappear under the rocks, and comes boiling back 300 meters later. We go back to reach the camp El Oso at 4pm.

Day 6: Early wake up! And we start the walk down, leaving back our camp, includes a stop in El Peñon for lunch, will be a long walk, at we need to do it carefully, close to 6 we are back in Guayaraca.

Day 7: We are close to finish this adventure, last part of trekking is after breakfast, now we can see Kavac, with a wide view from the top, close to 3 in the afternoon, we arrive to this community and get some cold drinks, and after our 7 hours trekking, Kavac welcome us with the delicious chicken barbecue! This is the last night with our group, sleeping in hammocks and watching our assignment from its foothill.

Day 8: Kavac offers us, an interesting option to visit its canyon and walk (during 15 minutes) to a beautiful waterfall, its black walls make you feel like in another world, clear waters with colorful stones charged with all this energy, after this good bye moment, we take the plane to flight back to Ciudad Bolívar.

Recommend bringing:
- Light clothes (preferably cotton)
- Pair of solid shoes and pair of light spare shoes
- T-shirts
- Rain gear
- Small daypack
- Raincoat
- Sunglasses, a hat, sun protection and sun blocker for sensitive skin, insect repellent
- Flashlight
- Cameras and films
