Merida is one of the best places in the world for paragliding. It offers an array of places where to take off. Turpial Travel & Adventure offer's you a variety of places to fly with skilled pilots or begginer paragliding courses with experienced instructors.
LA TRAMPA.- A 45 min drive west from Mérida. Thermal flights and probably the best place for a cross country. It is possible to fly all year round but the best months are from November to may.
LA AGUADA OR LOMA REDONDA.- take the cable car and go up to the third or fourth station respectively. Thermal or dereliction flights of some 25 min. with an altitude difference of some 2000 meters. Excellent sights of the city of Mérida. Also good for Tandem flights. All year.
LAS GONZALES/ TIERRA NEGRA.- some 45 min. drive west of Mérida. Best site for soaring and Tandem flights in the late afternoon which are best done with an experienced, skilled pilot. Xerophite area with endemic cactus species. All year.
