In the early summer, huge icebergs from the Arctic ice fields drift along the world famous “Iceberg Alley”, following the northern coast of Newfoundland. Humpback & Minke whales also arrive, pursuing the large schools of capelin close to shore, and the sea bird colonies are bustling. It is truly an extraordinary sight. We will navigate among the cathedral-like spires and poke into numerous sea caves. We will also visit former outports including Indian Burying Ground, the most impressive abandoned settlement in the province. This is a challenging exploratory sea kayaking destination and previous paddling experience is recommended.
