During this three day weekend we will follow the narrow, winding channels that slip under a canopy of huge red maples alive with warblers and woodpeckers, creating a scene more reminiscent of a southern mangrove swamp than an Acadian forest. We will lose ourselves in a marshland maze, forage for fiddle heads (young Ostrich ferns-a local delicacy) and uncover the story of early settlement when river boats plied the waterway. Evenings will be spent relaxing in a historic riverside inn.
