Day 1: Lisboa | Óbidos. Morning transfer from Lisboa´s airport to Óbidos. Lunch in Óbidos followed by a guided tour to this pretty medieval village, that back in the 13th century was giving to Dona Isabel by Dom Dinis as a wedding gift. Lodging: Casas de S. Thiago do Castelo
Day 2: Óbidos | Nazaré (45 km / 28 mi). Today´s destination is the fishing village of Nazaré, the place to go for fresh seafood. The cycling route to Nazaré takes you along the Atlantic coast and through some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. Your hotel in Nazaré is right on the beach and all the rooms have ocean view. Lodging: Hotel Mar Bravo
Day 3: Nazaré | Praia da Vieira (50 km / 31 mi). Today´s bike ride is an easy one. Mostly flat, it will take us along the coast to Praia da Vieira, a small town with a never ending white sand beach. Day 4: Praia da Vieira | Batalha (45 km / 28 mi). Start riding inland, towards Batalha. In town you will visit the impressive Batalha monastery, built in both Gothic and Manueline styles. This UNESCO World Heritage site was built to celebrate the victory of the Portuguese army over the Spanish in the battle of Aljubarrota (1385). Don´t miss the astonishing Capelas Imperfeitas (Unfinished Chapels)! Lodging: Hotel Casa do Outeiro
Day 5: Batalha | Batalha (61 km / 38 mi). Today you will ride through Serra de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, an amazing limestone range known for its huge caves. Here you will visit the "Grutas da Moeda" cave. Midway you will visit Fátima´s sanctuary, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Catholic religion, visited by four million people a year. This shrine was built where three shepherd children claim to have seen the apparition of the Virgin, back in 1917. Lodging: Hotel Casa do Outeiro
Day 6: Batalha | Rio Maior (44 km / 28 mi). Your last day of riding will again take you through the Serra de Aires e Candeeiros Natural Park. Your destination is Rio Maior and its unique salt production fields... 30 km/ 19 mi away from the sea! Van transfer from Rio Maior to Óbidos. Lodging: Casas de S. Thiago do Castelo.
Day 7: Óbidos | Lisboa. Morning van transfer to Lisboa's airport.
