Travel with Viva! Tours co-owners, Suzanne and CC. This lovely centuries-old small city combines a unique mixture of colonial European influence with the ancient Pre-Hispanic cultures of Mesoamerica. This cultural richness, along with its temperate, sunny climate, attracts people from all over the world. You will find it filled with many traditions, customs and history as well as natural beauty. San Miguel takes you back in time with its cobblestone streets, beautiful baroque architecture and many delightful plazas where you can sample good coffee, wonderful local food and beverages and shop to your heart’s content in the incredible abundance of craft shops specializing in pewter, ceramics, sterling silver, jewelry and handmade linens. There are numerous fine art galleries, boutiques and antique shops waiting for your exploration.
Cultural Activities
· Day tour to the historic city of Guanajuato. Birthplace of the Mexican Independence movement from Spain. Visit its baroque theater, its enchanting, tree-lined plaza, and the historic granary.
· Visit several local family workshops producing textiles, metal work, ceramics, hand-blown glassware, handcrafted furniture, jewelry, religious art and more.
· Cook a Mexican meal using fresh local produce. Taught by our hostess and talented gourmet chef, Maricela Campos.
· Experience the exciting sounds, aromas of the native food and artisan craft markets.
· Enjoy wine and cheese while visiting a local fine arts gallery where several of the artist will be demonstrating their artistry.
Language, Art and Cultural Classes
· The Instituto Allende & Las Bellas Artes National Art Institute offer many classes in Mexican history and culture, drawing, painting, sculpture, weaving, jewelry, photography, ceramics, stained glass, music and dance. Either group or one-on-one classes in the Spanish language are also available. We can arrange classes for you for an additional fee.
· Ample free time for local cultural events, concerts, art galleries, shopping, garden tours, and historic
sites on your own.
Items Included
· 7 nights at a delightful colonial style inn and casitas.
· Full breakfast and ‘La Comida’ (the main meal eaten in the afternoon), daily. Dinner in restaurant between Guadalajara and San Miguel on first evening.
· Round trip airfare to Guadalajara non-stop from our gateway city, Denver. Airfare from other selected cities is available for an additional cost. (Note: any additional taxes will be collected at the time of ticketing).
Transfer by comfortable vans from Guadalajara to San Miguel de Allende.
· All scheduled tours, trips and activities including local guides and entranace fees.
· Baggage handling and transfers.

NOTE: a Passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date of this tour is now required by the Mexican government. No Visa is necessary.

Solo Travelers Are Encouraged to Participate!
This includes a SINGLE room in a lovely colonial B&B with 2 meals per day, all tours and land transportation, and local guides. CC & Suzanne, the owners of Viva! Tours, are fluent in Spanish and will escort the tour. Their familiarity with San Miguel and the Mexican culture allows the participants to immerse in this wonderful culture. Also included is a cooking class and a day-long tour to the historic mining town of Guanajuato.
