This trip, designed for the back country adventurer, offers a bit of a challenge in an unspoiled wilderness. Offering 5 nights of back country trekking, breathtaking views and amazing scenery the highlight of your tour will be the hiking adventures around Pyramid Peak, Andrus Peak, Rex Creek, Chititu Camp and May Creek.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: July 11. Van pickup in Anchorage. Travel to McCarthy. Arrive McCarthy 5:00 PM. Overnight McCarthy.
Day 2: July 12. Flight into Canyon Creek. Backpacking to camp on Canyon Creek. Overnight Camping.
Day 3-5: July 13-15. Backpacking in Pyramid Peak region. Overnight Camping.
Day 6: July 16. Layover day at base of Pyramid. Day Hiking - Pyramid Peak. Overnight Camping.
Day 7: July 17. Backpacking - Andrus Peak to Rex Creek. Overnight Camping.
Day 8: July 18. Backpacking Rex Creek to May Creek. Stop at Chititu Camp - a former gold mining outpost. Pickup May Creek - Flight back to McCarthy. Overnight McCarthy.
Day 9: July 19. Free day in McCarthy/Kennicott. Overnight McCarthy.
Day 10: July 20. Van pickup in McCarthy 1:00pm. Travel to Anchorage. Arrive Anchorage 8:00pm. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 11: July 21. Kayaking Prince William Sound. Transfer to Airport.
Please note: Minimum age 14. All adventures are guided by permitted guides who are safety certified. All necessary gear provided, unless otherwise listed.
