You will see the Great Wall of China, the Terra Cotta Soldiers, the Ming Tombs, Tiananmen Square, the modern marvels of Shanghai and much more. In additions to these world-renowned sights you will experience the rich culture, food and hospitality that China has to offer first hand.
Day 1 - Leave USA for Beijing. The adventure begins!
Day 2 - When you arrive in Beijing, you will be met by a guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 - The day begins with a tour of a Chinese Hutong. This begins with a rickshaw ride through the old neighborhood, then a short walking tour into the narrow streets of the Hutong. You will be able to visit the home of a family who lives there; feel free to ask any questions. After lunch you will go to TianAnmen Square and then to the Forbidden City. In addition to seeing the buildings and grounds of the Emperor's palace, you will also see the Emperor's clock collection and the Qing Dynasty Jewelry, Robes and Relics collection. B, L, D
Day 4 - Today you will visit the Ming Tombs, including the Sacred Way and the Ding Ling Museum. You will be able to enter one of the tombs. In the Ding Ling Museum you can see artifacts and replicas from the tomb itself. After lunch you will go onto the incredible Great wall of China (at Badaling). Afterwards, you will be returned to your hotel. B, L
Day 5 - This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Xi’an. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After you are settled you will be taken on a tour of the city, including the old city wall. After lunch you will go to the Shaanxi Provincial Museum, which has an extensive collection of artifacts from the various Chinese Dynasties. B, L, D
Day 6 - Today you will visit what has been called the 8th Wonder of the World: the Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum. Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. You will be met by a guide and transferred to your hotel. B, L,
Day 7 - Today we will start the day with a trip to the gorgeous classic Chinese garden, the Yu Yuan Gardens. The exit of this garden goes directly into a major shopping area of Shanghai. The area is complete with shops, markets and a Classic Tea House with a zig-zag bridge. After lunch, you will be taken to the world-class Shanghai Art Museum. After dinner you will be taken to the Bund area which is a beautiful sight in the evening. B, L, D
Day 8 - The morning is free. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the USA with many wonderful memories. B
