The route of this tour leads through three most attractive towns of the CR. Due to their exceptional cultural-historical value, these towns were recorded at the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. In renaissance Telc, where our bike tour begins, you will have the chance to admire renowned square and castle with a royal garden. Cesky Krumlov is recorded on the UNESCO list as the best preserved medieval town in the central Europe.
It is the home of the second biggest chateau in the Czech Republic with a unique baroque theatre, royal garden and open-air theatre with a revolving auditorium. The historical center of Prague has become the most visited town of Europe after the fall of Communism. Except for these three UNESCO towns, you will spend a night in Jindrichuv Hradec, the seat of the region’s administration, and in the renaissance town Trebon, a famous spa resort.
Both towns have a millennium-long history, renaissance chateaus and many other Gothic, renaissance and baroque monuments. Furthermore, the route will take you through Ceske Budejovice, the town that gave name to Budweiser beer. You will certainly not want to miss the opportunity to taste in its hometown, where it has been brewed for 600 years.
The bike trail ends at Hluboká chateau from where you will ride the AVE minibus back to Prague. In Prague, as well as in Cesky Krumlov, we planned for you to stay for two nights, in order to give you a sufficient opportunity to relax and get to know these tourist jewels better.
The trail will take you through a diverse terpene. Sometimes you will have to conquer hills, which will be replaced by a flatland around rivers and ponds. The itinerary is designed as a gentle ride with a balance of cycling and sightseeing. Take it easy, take your time it is holiday after all!
