DESCRIPTION:
The region of Maramures is worldwide famous for its woodcarving and wood architecture. The tradition was passed on through generations to nowadays so one can still find woodcraftsmen working in old fashion workshops! Wooden churches, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, famous traditional Maramuresean gates, an entire history carved in wood.
The famous woodcraftsman Grigore Tulean from Sacel will pass on to you his knowledge in woodcarving. You’ll discover step by step the history of wood - what type of wood to use, how to use the carving instruments how to prepare the wood.
Course duration: 3 days, 4 hours / day, maximum 5 persons, minimum 2 persons.
The pottery and woodcarving courses are available for both beginners and intermediate.
Courses are being held in the country side, in Sacel village, accommodation in a 2* rustic pension, (in fact a welcoming rustic house, 2 bathroom for 7 rooms). This rustic type of accommodation enables you to observe the rural way of life; you hosts will treat you with the famous Romanian hospitality and serve you delicious traditional home cooked meals.
Add on programs available at the end of the course in order to learn more on Romania’s legends and traditions. Transfers available on request.

- 3 nights of accommodation in 2* traditional guesthouse, breakfast included
