Mt. Whitney 14,495 ft. Advanced Winter Mountaineering (3 days).
For experienced climbers, snowshoes, skiers, and snowboarders with previous ice ax, crampon, and rope handling skills. Practical training in climbing large peaks in a winter environment. Excellent training for winter climbers or expedition members heading for Mt. McKinley.
Instruction includes: rope team travel, snow protection placement, high camp establishment, avalanche hazard evaluation and more. This course culminates with an attempt of Whitney's Mountaineer's Route.
